Big things happening in San Diego!  Aztec Men's basketball, Padres Home opener and last week's San Diego Beer Awards.  This week we'll be joined by Brandon Hernandez who helms the awards but first we'll start with a story and some good luck.

It's like Jason knows the inner workings of my soul.  We need the our week of Abnormal beers with an IPA!  Not just any IPA, he's already given us examples of how he makes San Diego IPAs now he's taking us to a land down under with a New Zealand style IPA.

Yesterday Jason from Abnormal introduced us to the breweries Pie Series, while 3 of these are Imperial Weiss beers one is a barrel aged monster.  This year at monster is Mud Pie, find out what it's about! 

Even though we're about to wrap up March we can still celebrate the nerd holiday of Pie (3.14~) Day!  Jason from Abnormal brought one of the pie creations he put together for this years celebration.

There are a lot of IPA "types" out there; Imperial, West Coast, Hazy, Cold, San Diego.  Yes, San Diego has a subtype of its own and Abnormal Boss Pour IPA is a perfect example of that style!

It's always a blast to check in on Abnormal Beer Co.  In addition to a solid core line up of beers like Boss Pour, Brewer Jason Martin is also pushing the envelope and trying different twists on core styles.  Tonight we try thier take on a German Pilsner called 3-DPO.
