While watching a documentary about Johnny Manziel, a stark but simple truth struck me. Manziel, despite having an incredible talent and natural drive, fell short of his potential. This happened not because he lacked any skills or capabilities, but rather because he was always only chasing after the next big thing. It made me realize that as entrepreneurs, we must not get so caught up in the pursuit of our next milestone that we forget to appreciate the journey.
I remember my daughter's words when she was just five and playing basketball, Mom, I really don't want to go to the game today. I asked her why, and her answer surprised me: Because I don't score any baskets. It doesn't even make sense for me to be there. That tiny conversation opened up a whole new perspective. I told her that it's not always about scoring but also about being present, participating and enjoying the game. That's what defines us, not just our victories but how we play the game.
When I started my business, it was hard being a solopreneur. I, too, was striving for the next big thing, wanting to do more, achieve more. Burnout was the inevitable result. But I learned a valuable lesson from it. Success isn't just about pushing for the next big thing. It's also about building connections, enjoying the moment, and appreciating the journey. The story of Johnny Manziel, the naturally gifted sportsman who fell short of his potential because he was always chasing after the next thing, resonates with me. I'm reminded of the importance of being present and mindful of the opportunities and achievements that are right in front of us. It's not just about pursuing the next big thing, but about savoring the journey, appreciating our achievements, and connecting with your team. My business besties Kendra and Alicia taught me this valuable lesson. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey, but it doesn't have

Small things make huge impact. Most of the times we only focus on the big picture and forget about the steps on how to actually get there, but James Clear have clearly made his point on the power of small habits in his book, Atomic Habits. He has given specific strategies to work out good habits and make them work for your goal. Sometimes we fall into the trap of procrastination only because we thought we should accomplish our goal in one sitting. We will make excuses about not having enough time to do whatever task we are set to do. This leaves us with little to zero progress.
Here are my 5 key takeaways that you may find help too.
1. Focus on systems, not goals.
2. Make it obvious.
3. Make it attractive.
4. Make it easy.
5. Make it satisfying.
No amount of knowledge can lead us to lasting success when we have poor habits. We must focus on our everyday systems and processes, and check one micro goal at a time. So I encourage you to read this book, or tune into this week's Quickcast episode to learn about what every successful entrepreneur out there should know.

I'm sure you've heard me say this over and over but I will say it again, authenticity is the name of the game. In a world of Zoom calls and Instagram Lives, it has now become a challenge for us to keep it real when we deal with our network online.
In today's Quickcast episode, we will dive into why the most successful brands are those that are authentic. People will buy from businesses whom they trust, but how do you make them trust you when they are miles away from you? How do brands such as Wendy's, Airbnb, and Netflix maintain an amazing relationship with their people? The not-so-secret secret is authentic engagement. We discussed this and more in this episode:
Growing your business using social media is a journey that needs your time and heart as an investment. It sure is a lot but it'll definitely be worth it.
