In this episode, I present Roland Barthes' seminal essay, "The Death of the Author." Here he argues that the possibility for interpretation of the text must follow the erasure of the "Author-God" as the bearer of the truth of the text. I try to untangle what I believe to be some misconceptions about Barthes' argument at the end.
