  • The Power of The Method

There are those few actors that come around once in a while that capture a character so much so that they become them entirely. This is known as "the method" which can be a fantastic way to embody the character, as long as your okay become a character. Today we discuss this acting style that is so unique along with the brave men and women who perform it. • Midnight Mass

The idea of faith is often met with the term "blind" attached to it, when you pair these words together it can be something very good or bad. Today we discuss this main theme and others in our first episode involving a mini-series. There is a small island plagued with a new priest who holds a very sinister secret. A series that feels like a movie, really diving into each character as well as unfolding a compelling story all in 7 episodes is done no better than Mike Flanagan. Spoiler warning is advised but that means nothing for those who serve in "Gods army"

  • Great Moments in Sound Design

Since 1894 we have had the pleasure of experiencing sound in films. While at first what we got was just voices has now blossomed into much more, some can convey emotion, and sometimes the lack of it can create tension. That being said, we're talking all about it today and if you wanna stand up and shout your favorite moments then we'll proudly listen as we sound out some great moments in sound design.

  • The Harder They Fall

The days of the old west are long gone, gunslinging and taking revenge are over but that doesn't mean it's not fun to watch. A classic revenge story as Nat Love builds back up his gang to take down the man who killed his parents, Rufus Buck in a classic shootout. This film has an amazing cast with a clever modern twist on a western, that being said, there are a few plot holes and an ending that just doesn't win the quick draw but this is still a very fun film. If your going to pick any western this year it better be this, or we'll cheat the count on you too

  • Underrated A24 Films

When you have a production company that for many is still "underground" chances are you are going to have a few movies that no one has heard of. Being that we are the A24 boys it's only right for us to deep dive into our favorite creator of films for those hidden gems. As always we wanna know what films you wanna check out from this list, or better yet, some of your favorites that we didn't mention as we discuss our favorite underrated A24 films

  • Mystic River

What we do for our children is inconceivable, some might say we would even kill for them. In this murder mystery, we follow an interlocked story of 3 people in Sean, Dave, and Jimmy as they try to figure out the murder of Jimmy's daughter Katie. A film that shows the hardship of a father with an amazing performance by Sean Penn, you get a good twist and a better payoff in this dark film. This film is definitely a hidden gem to most but that's okay because here, "we bury our sins, we wash them clean."

  • Directorial Debuts

For everything that we love there is always that point that it all starts, the beginning. When it comes to the directors that we love we sometimes forget about the films that started their rise. Today we discuss some of our favorites. As always, we wanna know some of your favorites as we go door to door to ask for funding and showcase a preview in supermarkets as we take a look at directorial debuts that stuck with us.

  • Videodrome

The '80s were a time of great technological inventions as well as the advancement of those already created, even...VHS porn. While that is a vague description, we follow a porn network executive Max as he looks to find the creation of a "reality snuff film" company, and if this wasn't already weird what you get is a psychedelic trip body horror and practical effects film that rival most. This is a very uncomfortable film but at the same time has a powerful message on desensitization and gives you a sense of mystery, and that's why to the new flesh, we say long live

  • Horror Movie Sequels

As spooky season comes to an end once again, we remember the horror films that really stuck with us over the years. Like all good horror movies, anything popular usually gets a sequel and today we pick through the mess that is most of them and find the ones that are actually good. Let us know what are some of your favorites as we break free from the slashers just to make a cameo in the 4th installment as we count down our favorite sequels in horror

  • Psycho

With just one movie pick left of Spooky Season, we needed to go with something memorable, something horrific, something that you'll only feel safe watching inside a motel. As a woman decides to run away with stolen cash, she finds herself at the mercy of the Bates Motel and soon realizes that murder is just the beginning. A film by one of the best directors to ever live brings to life music that terrifies you and a twist that you keep guessing up until the end. With nothing bad to say about this film you just have to know with Norman, old habits die hard
