Although the ancient Roman myth of Romulus and Remus is just that, a myth, it is still the foundational story that shapes the origins of the Roman Empire, and as many myths do, it has historical value. At the least, it tells us how the Romans viewed themselves and their world in the days of Rome's greatness.
