In the latest Locked On NBA Big Board podcast, hosts Rafael and James Barlowe break down the standout rookie performances from Wednesday night’s NBA preseason action. Washington Wizards rookie Alex Sarr, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, had another strong game, finishing with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 assists against the New York Knicks, building on his solid performance earlier in the week. 

The Barlowe brothers also highlight Stephon Castle’s 17-point effort for the Spurs, where his passing and ability to draw fouls stood out, with James comparing him to Brandon Roy and Jimmy Butler.

 Reed Sheppard’s efficient 11-point outing for the Rockets raised questions about his role and whether he could steal minutes from Jalen Green. 

Kyshawn George impressed with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting for the Wizards, as Rafael and James discuss his evolving role in Washington after being used primarily as a floor spacer in college. 

Lastly, Knicks rookie Kolek delivered a well-rounded performance, posting 15 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, showing off his all-around game in a win over the Wizards.
