This week Patrick sits down with former reality TV star, Leah McSweeney. Leah opens up about her road to sobriety over the past couple of years and the changes she’s noticed in herself due to becoming sober. The past couple of years have been nothing but a rollercoaster for Leah, but she speaks on how her daughter and being sober have helped her through. Tune into this episode to find out more about Leah’s up’s and down’s.
About Leah McSweeney:
Leah McSweeney is a dynamic entrepreneur, fashion designer, and reality TV personality. McSweeney published her memoir, Chaos Theory in 2022 where she shares her unique take on the philosophy and how her years spent partying in the drug-fueled club scene of New York City lead to her getting sober, having a baby, and launching her own business. With a fierce passion for fashion, she co-founded the feminine streetwear brand Married to the Mob, which has gained a loyal following for being bold, edgy, and unapologetically feminist. In March of 2023, McSweeney launched her podcast titled The Leah McSweeney Show on YouTube and other platforms where she shares her stories of life’s unexpected twists and turns while interviewing people of all walks of life. Alongside a team, she also helped develop the dating app Club Pillar which seeks to redefine dating and social interactions for those committed to a sober lifestyle or looking to cut back on drinking.
McSweeney is celebrated for her unapologetic authenticity, blending her personal experiences with a commitment to social causes. Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, she is a strong advocate for mental health awareness and personal growth, inspiring others to embrace their true selves and find meaning in the chaos.

On this week’s episode of Rooted Recovery Stories, Patrick is joined by the lovely, talented and hilarious Tayla Lynn, granddaughter of country music legend and icon, Loretta Lynn. All this and more on this episode!
We would love to hear from you! Email us at [email protected]
About Tayla Lynn!
There is a bright eyed enthusiasm to singer/songwriter Tayla Lynn that cannot be denied. There is a warmth in her voice, truth behind her piercing blue eyes, and genuine affection when she speaks of her history, her family and friends, and most of all her art. Born into one of Nashville’s greatest musical dynasties, Lynn’s passion for singing and performing was sparked from an early age watching Loretta Lynn and Ernest Ray Lynn. She was four the first time Loretta Lynn took her on stage.
Signed to Skyville Records in 2007, Lynn’s first major musical project was the trio Stealing Angels with Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Wayne. Her first solo project, The Ranch, released in 2016, was the culmination of a move across the country, addiction, recovery, a lot of hard work, and a dash of her grandmother, Loretta Lynn. She writes and sings her truth about love, healing, motherhood, and the coal dust that runs through her Kentucky veins. Lynn’s album on Heart of Texas Records, 'Tayla Lynn sings Loretta Lynn', is available everywhere!

About Loretta Lynn:
Loretta Lynn has long been established as the undisputed Queen of Country Music, with more than 60 years of recording and touring to her name. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Lynn shook up Nashville by writing her own songs which tackled boundary-pushing topics drawn from her own life experiences as a wife and mother. “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Fist City” and “Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)” are just three of 16 country No. 1 singles.
Inducted into more music Halls of Fame than any female recording artist, including The Country Music Hall of Fame & Songwriters Hall of Fame, and was the first woman to be named the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year in 1972. Lynn received Kennedy Center Honors, a Presidential Medal of Freedom and was named recipient of Billboard’s inaugural Women in Music “Legend” Award. With 18 nominations, Lynn has won four Grammy Awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. She has sold more than 45 million records worldwide.
Still Woman Enough, Lynn’s 50th studio album (excluding her 10 collaborations with Conway Twitty) became her latest. In it she celebrates women in country music, including a cover of “Keep On The Sunny Side” and a new interpretation of her very first single, “I’m A Honky Tonk Girl".
