Botín Ireland is a new Irish game and publishing company, based in Cork creating family-friendly bilingual games with an emphasis on geography, history and Irish culture. Friends Sean O’Shea & Michael Orr wanted to make learning Irish fun, so they have just launched a bilingual Irish/English board game to help bring the Irish language back into homes and classrooms across the whole of Ireland. Adrianne spoke with Sean to find out about the game, how it works, and their appeal to the public to help get a copy of the game into every school in Ireland. There has been a Gay Pride parade in Dublin since 1994. This parade is now known as the Dublin Pride because Pride parades now take place at various times of the year in many towns around the country. They are celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community, but everyone is welcome to the party and here in Roscommon it is not just a parade but a whole weekend of fun activities for all the family. The second Roscommon Pride’s LGBTQ+ festival takes place from 22-24 August, and it promises to be a jam-packed line up of events. Organisers William & Barry joined Adrianne in the studio for a chat and to tell us what’s in store for the weekend.

Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland’s mission is simple; it is to change the world for autistic children. AADI train assistance dogs, who go on to bring safety, calm, and connection to both children and their families, but it costs €25,000 to train each dog, and they receive no government funding. They rely entirely on public support. Adrianne chats here with David McCarthy, AADI’s Head of Fundraising & Communications who talks about the organisation and how people can help by training a puppy, donating time and/or money, or by getting involved in one of their exiting fundraising campaigns. Each year in August, people from all over Ireland walk to the Marian shrine in the village of Knock, County Mayo, to raise money for Mary’s Meals. Traditionally, walkers set off from seven points across Ireland between 7th to 15th August, covering more than 200km over nine days, all arriving in Knock on the same day, 15th August. At Mary’s Meals, they use this opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds to help feed hungry children in some of the world’s poorest communities. Adrianne is joined in the studio by Fr. National Heritage Week 2025 will take place from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th August and this year they are celebrating the theme 'Exploring Our Foundation'. This theme invites everyone to reflect on the structures, landscapes, and cultural practices that have shaped who we are. Adrianne chats with Ronan Healy of The Heritage Council who is National Heritage Week Programme Manager, and they discuss some of the many things to see and do throughout the week, with many family-friendly events.
