  • Pride, Prejudice and Prophecy (Mark 9:30-41)

Picking back up in Mark… Jesus takes the disciples into Capernum for someone on one teaching.

As they debate who will be the greatest in the kingdom, Jesus will explain to them and teach who is the most important and why.

Ice Breaker: What would be the most humble act or service you have ever done?

Big Idea: Sin says you’re important because of you, Jesus says you’re important because of Him.

    1. Pride lies to you…

    Eph 6:7-8

    Luke 14:11

    2. Jesus is the truth to you…

    John 14:6

    Titus 3:5-7

    John 13:5

    Application:

Do you have a desire to be recognized for you actions, or service or a kind gesture?

Do you know that Jesus did it all, you are serving the Lord?

What’s most important, the opinion and approval of the world or the opinion of Jesus and His work?

  • Help My Unbelief (Mark 9:9-29)

We are moving through Mark, it’s been a minute but here we are. Looking at a large section of scripture that covers the man struggling with his belief and the demon possessed boy.

Where man will fail, Jesus calls us to believe in Him.

Ice Breaker: If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?

(Put your answer below in the comments)

Big Idea: Even in your unbelief Jesus is still working…

    3 Types of Unbelief

    1. Ignorance (Illiterate Unbelief)

    Psalms 19:1-4a

    2. Rejection (Aggressive Unbelief)

    See Sermon Scripture

    3. Passive (Unsteady Unbelief)

    James 1:6-8

    John 3:16-17

“There is nothing that keeps wicked men, at any one moment, out of hell, but the mere pleasure of GOD.”

  • Hey, Tom! (Bonus Episode-Testimony)

Finally the time has arrived!!! We get to spend some time with my friend Thomas.

    Before I forget, the icebreaker…

Would you rather have the ability to turn invisible or the power of flight?

We start off with intention to discuss his testimony but we take the natural turn and take a look into how Gods grace is ever present in our lives, in his life.

I will tell you when we finished up, there is a lot more to dig into. We could almost call this “An Intro to Thomas” because he is has a lot of wisdom and experience to share!

I pray you enjoy this episode and it would be a blessing.

We are back, again, what a couple weeks, yet we are here and we are looking at the transfiguration of Jesus!

Peter, James and John up on the mount with Jesus, Elijah and Moses.

Holy is more than an adjective, so we have a couple points to look over.

Ice breaker: Do you like your food organized on the plate or is it a free for all?

    Additional verses:

    Matt 17:2; Exodus 33:20-22; Revelation 21:22-23

    2 Peter 1:16-18

Big Idea: Holy is more than an adjective, it’s Gods quintessence.

    1. What Holiness is NOT

    Exodus 20:7

    2. What Holiness is

    Isaiah 6:3; Leviticus 20:7; Titus 3:4-7; Ephesians 1:7-8a; 1 Thessalonians 5:23

This episode we take a run at it and see how Miss Rachael is doing.

  • Surrender To Win (Mark 8:34-9:1)

Here we go to the end of chapter 8… from our last sermon, here is where Jesus begins the march to the cross. Bringing, to His disciples and those around Him, a lesson on what is expected to follow Jesus.

Ice Breaker: What do you do in your car that would be embarrassing anywhere else?

    (Comment below)

    Sermon Points:

    1. Weak is Strong

    Prov 16:18-20

    2. Endurance builds Faith

    1 Peter 1:3-7

    3. Less me, More Him

    John 3:30-31

    Galatians 2:20

    Application:

This week make a list of all the identities you have. Are you a worker, father, mother, banker, truck driver, etc. ?

How are these glorifying to the work Christ has done? How do and what does it look like? Or are you still concerned with what the world thinks about you?

  • Don’t Let Me Be Eve - Part 4 (w/ Miss Rachael)

The last of the Husband Scorecard…

This wraps up this section and we have to take some had looks at some of my own leadership with in my home. Couple scores aren’t to good, but that’s the beauty of having the Bible to lead a husband, and Jesus as the perfect example of how men are to be good leaders and good servants at the same time.

We will be working out of Ephesians this session…

“So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.”

    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭28-‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  • Confession, Comprehension and the Christ (Mark 8:27-33)

This week we look at the lynch pin of Marks gospel… here we see where everything thus far had lead to what Jesus will ask His disciples, and from here pours out the rest of book of Mark.

Who do they say I am?

Who do you say I am?

Two incredibly important questions… and the two questions I’d say you ask yourself at the end.

  • Bread, a Boat and a Blindman (Mark 8:1-26)

    We are back in Mark!!!!!

Yes it’s been quite sometime but here we are. We look at the feeding of the 4000, much the same as the last time Jesus feeds a huge group… well this week we go a little beyond that to the blind man he heals.

Taking a look at what it means to have ears to hear and eyes to see and what to do when it seems dark…

    Sermon Notes:

Title: Bread, a Boat and a Blindman

Ice Breaker: When is the last time you lost your keys? Or something that was important to

you. Is the momentary pain override the joy of enteral life? Are you focused on the bread or

  • I Accepted Jesus, Now What? (Gal 5:16-24)

Today I had the privilege of filling in for Pastor Robert at One Church Jax Beach.

Definitely a very humbling opportunity, my gratitude to the church.

So this week we look at what do you do after accepting Jesus. Easter being last week an incredibly large amount of people show up for that service that normally don’t go to church and with the work of the Holy Spirit, they, or you… may have had something happen or even accepting Christ on that day.

Well what now… where do I go? Where do I find out what I’m suppose to do?

Today we are going to cover that…

    1. Read the Bible... (2 Tim 3:16-17)

    2. Pray... (Jeremiah 29:12)

    3. Join a Church... (Hebrews 10:23-25)

Take an inventory of your deeds and an inventory of your fruits Are you living in the Spirit, tight to the will of God? Is there visible fruit in your life that may draw

    others to you?
