Working at a full time youth pastor, this young man is pretty amazing and the his love for the gospel and taking that to the youth is beyond exciting.

We cover his beginning, to meeting Christ, to what he is doing today. I was stoked to hear from him how much and what parents can do to help their kids grow in Christ. If I’m honest we could seriously have talked for 3 to 42 hours, there is a lot to cover and I look forward to the next time we converse.

We are starting a new series on what a biblical marriage looks like and that’s right, Miss Rachael hangs out in the closet this week with me. Our intro this week opens the door a little bit as we look at Genesis 3 and the fall in the Garden of Eden.

In the next few episodes we will delve deeper into the husband role and the woman role, we even will be using a score card system to lay out and honest examination of how we are both doing in our roles.

We have always been big on transparency and if our life or rather our marriage is an open door, for others to look in, of what God does then here we are.

Over the next few weeks we are going to look at biblical leadership in the home, what is submissive behavior, how to lead and how to follow, and what is a one flesh decision.

-1 Tim 2:14-15 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

Who is your Nineveh?

Here we arrive in the Decapolis region, after a 120 mile journey, they bring a man that is deaf and has a speech impediment to Jesus to be healed.

We look at that moment and we take a look at the “they” in the story and the concern “they” have for the man, begging Jesus to heal him.

We are back and back on the Mark train. Picking back up in chapter 7, starting in verse 24… We are at one of the stories that are taking out of context. Many of the modern liberal bible interpretation take this in a completely different direction than the original writer would have you understand it.

This week we look at the level of faith of one gentile woman meeting Jesus, she begs for help for her daughter.

This week we pick back up with Jesus continuing to deal with the Pharisees and their concern with the outside issues as the things that defile a person. Jesus turns it around and says it’s the heart, what comes out of man.

Application:

Take this to heart, no pun intended, but during the week slow down on your responses to

people, in your conversations, in your actions even. What did Jesus say, its what comes out of

a man… So, the things that come from your mouth, and perhaps actions, are they sinful? Are

your words uplifting or do they cut? Are you putting others down to bring yourself up?

How are you treating the saving grace that you have been given when dealing with the people

around you?

We got to chapter 7 and the Pharisees are out to see if they can catch Jesus up in their questions. We take a look at how the traditions of men are used to supersede God’s commandments.

Application:

Pick one of the 10 commandments this week and study it. How can this work as a filter in your

life to examine what you are doing and if there is anything in your life that needs to be

addressed.
