In this episode Natalie is joined by Rubina Pabani & Poppy Jay of the award winning podcast ‘Brown Girls Do It Too’ to talk pushing back against the stereotypes of South Asian Women, the importance of honesty around sex and the spiritual connection of the sisterhood. As independent producers and journalists in their own right the pair have created hard hitting documentaries for Channel 4, Channel 5 and the BBC amongst other networks (Rubina is currently the head of short form for ITN studios) however it is the success of their candid podcast that has really catapulted them into the mainstream consciousness. The outspoken duo have taken their personal stories of sexual awakenings and sometimes mishaps and shared them to the masses, being the friends that makes you feel safe and seen when questioning your own sexual quirks. With a live stage show called ‘Mama Told Ne Not To Come’, naturally following suit they are spreading the message that women can and do talk about sex.
