When Joby Olguin moved from Arkansas to Portland, he wasn’t just starting a new chapter—he was rebuilding his sense of community. In this episode, he shares what it’s like to leave behind a tight-knit run club and step into a new, unfamiliar space, searching for connection through the sport he loves.
Joby and Andrew dive into the evolution of run clubs, the balance between social and competitive running, and the importance of showing up as your authentic self. They also explore the deeper role running communities play—not just in training but in shaping conversations around identity, privilege, and inclusion.
Through personal stories and candid reflections, Joby offers a fresh perspective on running as more than just miles—it’s about growth, belonging, and the people who push us forward.

Over the past couple of years, Trevor and Kayla have gone from dating, to engaged, to married, and running has been a part of that journey the whole way. Kayla would be training for marathons with Trevor on the bike supporting, when he though he could get in on this "running thing" too. Fast Forward, they are acomplishing amazing goals and they share in the joy.
They have also embedded themselves in the Hampton Roads running community, and have become stables at many of the events in the area. They aren't just running, but can be seen out cheering folks on and helping to lift up community.

In this episode, I sit down with Montana Ross to talk about what keeps us going through the seasons, the ups and downs of training, and how running is more than just miles on a watch—it’s a way of life. Montana shares her journey, from lacing up for her first race to finding joy in the rhythm of the run, even when motivation dips. We also dive into the power of community, why running with others makes all the difference, and how embracing the process is just as important as crossing the finish line. Whether you’re chasing a PR or just out for the love of the run, this conversation is for you.

Joe Robinson has a deep love for the city that raised him—Detroit, Michigan. When this love for his city met the joys he was finding through running, movement, and activation, he found a way he could help encourage others as they sought to become better versions of themselves. He then teamed up with Lance Woods and WeRun313 was born.
As Joe mentions, WeRun313 is a social run club that connects like minded individuals through running to build a healthier happier community.
Joe talks of the journey of doing more than building people into healthier lifestyles. He also sees an opportunity to help reshape the community and city he lives in.
