  • EP49: Playing Big and Releasing Control in Dating and Relationships with Maddy Moon

Maddy is one of my favorite life coaches to follow on the internet. She’s so smart and intuitive, and sprinkled with just enough humor and quirkiness you can’t help but adore her.

She’s a transformational life coach, speaker, author, and fellow podcaster. She spent years hiding behind fear and perfection until she realized what she was doing wasn’t making her happy, and decided to do something about it.

In our conversation, we talk about everything what it means to play big, releasing the need for control, and so much more.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    • What playing big means, and how it can help you to attract your ideal relationship
    • How to release the need for control
    • 2 things to look out for if you’re not sure if the relationship you’re in is working
    • Why an imbalance of feminine + masculine energy can have you attracting the wrong partners and inhibiting the depth of your relationship

    About Maddy:

Surrender to your own greatness, laugh in the face of rejection and live louder with Motivational Speaker and Life Coach Maddy Moon.

After hiding behind fear, perfection, and a risk-aversion for many years, Maddy knows what it’s like to play small, downplay your own existence and only hope that one day it will all be worth it.

Today, Maddy’s mission is to help you realize the heart-pounding fact that you've only been gifted one life and every day you’re faced with the choice to either make the most of it {unapologetically} or fight against who you’re really meant to be.

Her work and story has been featured in The Huffington Post, Teen Vogue, The Daily Mail, Vice, and ABC News Nightline. Maddy is the host of a top-ranked podcast, Mind Body Musings, and can be found passionately exclaiming her love for taking life by its golden, glittery reigns on her online space, MaddyMoon.com.

EP48: Standing Up For Yourself Without Being A D*** with Amy Smith

I have an amazing episode for you today. I came across Amy through another podcast I was interviewed on, and was completely drawn to her spunky, badass, tell it like it is style. You’ll hear it immediately once we start chatting.

We talk about speaking your truth, boundaries, vulnerability, and all things communication. Whether you’re trying to figure out the relationship you’re in or dating, you’re going to love what we jam about. No b.s., and no airy-fairy advice like, “just be authentic!” without telling you step by step how to make it happen.

    Enjoy this spicy conversation!

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    • Step by step, how to ask for what you need in a relationship, WITHOUT feeling bitchy or needy, including exact words and sentences to say
    • Why vulnerability to critical to having a healthy, loving relationship, and tangible steps to start being vulnerable if the idea of it makes you feel squirmy
    • How to discern when to withhold private information (like kids, previous marriages) and when to share, AND how to deal with all the white lies on dating profiles, like age, height, or income

    About Amy:

Amy E. Smith is a certified confidence coach, masterful speaker, and personal empowerment expert. Founder of TheJoyJunkie.com, Amy uses her roles as coach, writer, podcaster, and speaker to move individuals to a place of radical personal empowerment and self-love. • EP47: Body Love and the BS Love Stories in Hollywood with Margo Donohue

This episode is a bit different, mostly because we talk about 2 completely different topics, so yay for having multi-passions!

My guest, Margo Donohue is a blogger and podcast host for one of my favorite fitness blogs, Fit Bottomed Girls. She also hosts the podcast, Book vs. Movie. In this episode, we talk about how to have a healthy relationship to fitness (and why losing your last 5lbs WON’T help you get the guy).

Margo happens to be a movie expert, so we also talk about the best and the worst rom-coms, and how they’ve often subconsciously held us back and ruin our expectations around dating, relationships, and love.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    • How to make friends with your body when you have poor body image
    • Why fitness and working out alone won’t solve your confidence, emotional, or relationship problems
    • How movies and pop culture completely convolute what a “healthy” relationship looks like
    • How to know what a healthy relationship feels like, even if you’ve never had one

    About Margo:

Margo Donohue is the creator of the health & fitness Blog Brooklyn Fit Chick which has been featured in Fitness magazine, Shape.com, Bridal Guide, DietsinReview.com and Fitbie.com. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY is both a Group Fitness and Personal Trainer with certifications from NASM, AFAA, ACE and TRX.

Follow her on Twitter @BrooklynFitChik, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
