#48 - You're a winner if you just show up and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep moving forward! You're way ahead of 95% of the population that can't do what you do. As an example, I share my results of the Tower Challenge that I just took part in.

#47 - Yes, lifting weights is a great complement to running and not only leads to better running, but also to better overall fitness.
Many runners fear bulking up and getting too heavy, but this doesn't have to be the case.
So, what do you do? How do you get started?
My guest, Philip Pape, the host of the Wits & Weights podcast, will explain all of this to you on this entertaining and informative episode.
Philip is a very relatable person. Here is what he has to say about himself:
I was a late bloomer in the fitness game. I hit 40 and realized I had spend years - YEARS - chasing my tail with fad diets. Atkins? Been there. Paleo? Done that. Keto, intermittent fasting, CrossFit, you name it. I was the king of starting things but never finishing them.
Any my physique? It was screaming mediocrity. Let's admit it: DAD BOD.
Then 2020 hit, the year that slapped us all in the face. I took it as a sign.
I built a home gym and dove headfirst into the world of evidence-based nutrition and training. No more bro science, no more guesswork. I was all in.
I couldn't keep this to myself. So, in 2021, Wits & Weights was born.

#44 - My guest on this week's uplifting episode is Wellness Advisor Kelly Majdan. What is Kelly's advice? Never say "I'm too old for this."
She lives what she preaches. She refuses to give into age by competing in obstacle course races. Kelly has learned many life lessons from taking on obstacles and shares them on this podcast and in her fantastic book, Lessons From The Obstacle Course.
Here is some more information about Kelly:
Kelly Majdan is a best-selling author, speaker, and National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), who helps people strategically utilize their finite resources to design a life of wellness and longevity.
In their mid-40’s, Kelly and her husband discovered the world of obstacle course races while he was recovering from brain surgery. Following her own wellness strategy has enable her and her husband, both over 50, to continue to participate in a few obstacle course races each year, despite some ongoing health challenges. Their kids even join them on their adventures in the mud! Makes for a great family outing – if you like that sort of thing! 😊
After twenty-five years in the financial services industry, she left to start her Wellness Advisory firm Power Through Wellness where she helps other Mid-Lifers develop a wellness strategy that optimizes their time, money, and resources so they can achieve the healthy life they desire without breaking the bank.
When not playing in the mud she can be found relaxing at home watching movies with their two massive dogs and a very spoiled cat.

#43 - Get prepared to be inspired and amazed! My guest, Jenn Drummond, was featured on the Today Show last week! She will teach you how to become resilient and achieve your goals.
A car accident in 2018 left Jenn Drummond awestruck and emboldened. Rescue workers couldn’t imagine any scenario where she came out of it alive, but she did. That’s when she realized you don’t get to choose when you leave this life…but you sure can choose how you live it. Strengthened by this awareness, she set out to live in a more authentic and adventurous way.
Inspired to climb a mountain for her birthday, her son raised the stakes by suggesting Mount Everest. Not one to back down from a challenge, she accepted the pursuit. During her training, her coach upped the ante and proposed that she go for a Guinness World Record and become the first woman to climb the 7 second summits. The pursuit matched her desire to live a life of significance, not just success.
Today, Jenn is a world record holder who elevates others to master their own summit in life. She’s a successful business owner and Mom of 7 remarkable kids who, as you have heard, boldly inspire and brazenly challenge her. She’s also an international speaker, an author, and Host of the Seek Your Next Summit podcast, who’s focused on inspiring others to go beyond success to a life of significance.
Listen and learn how to take on your own challenges, whatever they may be and achieve them. Become quit proof!
