Sirkusmolar is a new contemporary circus show from Hringleikur (https://www.hringleikur.is/home.html).

The show is an act based performance where Iceland's most experienced circus artists blend aerials, acrobatics, dance, comedy, and drama.

Their next show (https://www.tjarnarbio.is/syningar/sirkusmolar) is this Thursday, October 30, at Reykjavík's Tjarnarbíó.

The Festival of Nations West Iceland (https://www.facebook.com/events/2031126950963688) takes place on Sunday, at Íþróttahúsið, Vesturgata in Akranes, and celebrates the region's, and the country's, cultural diversity.

There will be many nations represented with performances, sampling from various countries' national food, handcrafts and much more.

The festival is free and family-friendly.

Near the beginning of last month - when the weather was very different - Darren visited Byggðasafn Skagfirðinga (The Skagafjörður Heritage Museum) - https://www.glaumbaer.is/en - where you can find the Glaumbær turf house. It's part of the National Museum of Iceland’s Historic Building Collection.

Darren was guided round the cool and low-ceilinged interior of the turf house by museum director Berglind Þorsteinsdóttir.

A WomenTechIceland (https://www.womentechiceland.com/) fundraising evening will be held this Thursday, 23 October, in the lead-up to the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Day Off. A time capsule will be created, collecting documents, materials, photographs, and other items related to the struggle for gender equality, with an emphasis on the technology sector. All guests will have the opportunity to contribute to the time capsule.

All proceeds will go to WomenTechIceland projects that aim to promote diversity and inclusion in the Icelandic technology sector.
