Our guest today are Kyle & Renee or Carl & Nae Nae, Happily Ever Hanks but you will have to listen to hear what that’s all about, as well as hear how they are balancing RV LIFE with a successful YouTube Channel. 

 The Hanks are 2 amazing, young people that decided to use their YouTube Channel to inspire people in an entertaining way. RV Life started when they were working as traveling nurses. 

 When the need for traveling nurses ended, the Hanks already had the RV Life bug and wanted to continue their travels. They started a YouTube Channel just for fun… Today the channel is a great success with over 112,000 subscribers. The content is fun and entertaining and helps with some practical advise, like how to get gas at a truck stop and using the Open Roads Fuel card for discounts. Finding your way out of a truck stop is another issue. Check out that video.  

 Our conversation with the Hanks showed how they balance RV Life with a successful YouTube Channel. The Hanks are real people and their goal of inspiring others shows through.

“Girl Camper”, camper and chief, Janine Pettit, of the Girl Camper Magazine, got the RV Life bug and wants to share what she knows with you.

Navigating the holidays while on the road… Full time, part time, some time, if that time is during the holidays you want to listen to our guests, the Status Crowes, for great tips.

For most RVers we are on the road because we want an easier, more simple way of life and too often the holidays are just the opposite. Our guest Chuck & Michelle of the Status Crowes, advise from Michelle, “don’t be attached to the outcome”.  We can all relate to the fact that we have an idea of how things are going to go and then stuff happens and it’s easy to get annoyed, upset even angry, staying open really helps. What we have found is that the things that don’t work the way we expected sometimes work out better.

They start by putting pins on a map and filling in travel based on those pins or hard dates as Dan and I call them. We talk about traveling for the holidays and Chuck and Michelle shared so many great tips, most important, “flexibly is power” but also have plans. Having plenty of time to get where you are going because stuff happens.

Chuck and Michelle shared what to do when you can’t take your RV with you during the holidays. We chatted about storage, leaving the RV in an RV park, packing a suitcase, flying, and so much more. 

We put Chuck and Michelle on the spot and asked them, What is your number 1 tip, after 5 years on the road,  if you could go back to day 1? 

Chuck said, “take your time”. The best advise we have heard. 

Then it was time to sit back relax and enjoy The Status Crowes perform a song. It was beautiful.

It's getting cold outside. What are you doing to winterize your RV? Winterizing when you are planning to stay in a cold climate can help keep you warmer and save money on electric bills.

We spoke with Dave Solberg from RV Repair Club, now called RV Lifestyle & Repair Club, and he gave us great tips on winterizing your RV and what you need to know. With over 30 years of RV experience and repair, he is the guy to go to for questions about RVs and the RV LIFE. Check out their website.

Dave spoke about RV skirting. He lives in the Midwest, where it gets icy. He has used hay bales around the RV to keep it warmer in the past, and it did work. My concern was about mice, rats, and other unwanted guests. He agreed that it is a concern and suggested two products, Mouse Free and Grandpa Gus, which can be found online.

He also talked about a product called AirSkirts that he saw at the Hershey RV Show. We also looked at this product at the show, and if we were going to stay in the cold, we would have this product. In today's RV LIFE Podcast episode, we talk to an organizing expert who changed our lives.

Robin, who pens her blog under BG Barnstormer, is an organizing expert. We call her a life changer. Before becoming a mom, Robin was a pilot and test pilot, and her husband, Chris, is still a pilot. The family of 5 has been traveling full-time for over two and a half years.

We met Robin, her husband, and three kids while camping in Las Vegas and instantly loved her and her whole family. Dan was an airship pilot, so you can imagine a great deal of conversation about aviation.

At one point, we started chatting with Robin about the frustrations of organizing our RV, which is where it all started. She said she could help and came to our RV, where we discussed the problem areas. She showed us some quick tips that made a big difference and improved our RV LIFE.
