35-yr-old divorced mom of two, Sanaa, struggles with understanding her 41-yr-old boyfriend, Malcolm. After 3 months together, Sanaa reports that she and Malcolm would spend hours on the phone, and that Malcolm has spent a lot of time with her kids. Sanaa understands Malcolm’s difficulties at work, and the fact that he is a devoted caregiver to a family member, however she states that calls or texts are a minimum “standard” to which Malcolm needs to adhere. Regardless of telling Malcolm that she needs consistent, daily communication, Malcolm will now go AWOL for days, and complain to Sanaa when she brings up the issue. In Ep. 66, Sanaa wants to know if she should continue to talk to Malcolm about her needs in this area, if she is just nagging, or if she needs to simply walk away.
