Following the Ministry of Health's confirmation on Wednesday (July 6) night that there is one local case of monkeypox in Singapore, infectious diseases expert Professor Dale Fisher discusses the possibility of the disease being in the community for some time.

The patient is a 45-year-old male Malaysian national who resides in Singapore. He is currently hospitalised at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases and his condition is stable.
