Dr. Hugh Safford is a professor at UC Davis.The Safford Lab at UC-Davis is focused on applied ecological support to resource and fire management in California and worldwide. Dr. Safford is theChief Scientist for Vibrant Planet, anenvironmental public benefits corporation. Prior to that, he was the Regional Ecologist for the USDA-Forest Service. He is also the director of the Sierra Nevada section of the California Fire Science Consortium and and PrimaryInvestigator of the California Prescribed Fire Monitoring Program, which is a partnership with CALFIRE.
