Our guest on the podcast this week is Tony Loyd, a leadership development expert who empowers aspiring changemakers to rapidly grow a business with a social mission. Tony is a former Fortune 500 executive with companies such as JohnDeere, Medtronic, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Today, Tony is a best-selling author, keynote speaker, business coach, and podcast host. He is the Executive Producer of the podcast Social Entrepreneur where he shares positive stories from underrepresented voices, focusing on solutions that the world needs. You may also have seen Tony on the TED platform as he is a TEDx speaker and the best-selling author of Crazy Good Advice: 10 Lessons Learned from 150 Leading Social Entrepreneurs.
In today’s episode, Tony shares his journey from corporate CEO to supporting social entrepreneurs in a life of meaningful service. He talks about the turning points in his own life, those moments where the seeds were planted for him to want to make a difference and how he found his path towards a deeper sense of purpose.
Listen in as we discuss why social entrepreneurship is the future of business, how leadership is becoming more purpose-driven, and the 10 questions you can ask yourself about life, leadership, and social entrepreneurship to see if you have an idea worth funding. We talked through what it means to make a positive difference in our world from the personal to the professional and beyond. This was a powerful conversation and really interesting to hear what Tony has learned from interviewing and working with so many social entrepreneurs. Will there be challenges? Of course. As Tony says “There be dragons…” and what you do to overcome those obstacles can define your success or if you ignore them, potentially, your ultimate demise. If you are interested in business as a force for good, or you simply want to help make the world a better place, I think you’ll enjoy Tony’s insights.

This week on the sacred changemakers podcast, I have a different kind of episode for you. I was recently asked to speak on the 100% Human podcast with podcast host Karen Allen. Now Karen and I have known each other for a few years and our work is very aligned, so I said yes, and last week we recorded that interview. And here’s the thing, Karen and I had a riveting conversation, a true dialogue that I really wanted to share with all of you, so you’re getting a sneak peek before it is published on the new 100% human podcast in July. A big thank you to Karen for allowing me to do this for all of you…
Let me tell you a little about Karen because you are going to hear from both of us in today’s episode:
Karen is a TEDx speaker and founder of 100% Human. In her previous career, Karen worked in HR and Talent Management. However, when she experienced an unexpected tragedy, the trajectory of her life changed forever. Determined to rebuild her life, Karen discovered mindset habits and lifestyle changes that helped her find her way back to a whole heart. This inspired her to help others jumpstart their mental strength training.
Karen's client list includes AT&T, Kaiser Permanente, Travelers Insurance, NBC’s Golf Channel, Hubspot, Universal Orlando Parks & Resorts, Sprint, and many more! Her work has been featured in Forbes, SHRM Magazine, Good Morning America, MSNBC, and many others! She's also a regular contributor to Arianna Huffington's THRIVE Global community.
Today Karen and I talk about our own journeys that include healing from life-halting trauma to finding our own unique way to business success, we discuss business/leadership and also what we’ve learned from the Covid-19 global pandemic. We both feel passionate about this time of transformation that we’re all living through, and taking responsibility for playing our part in consciously shaping a better world for us all to enjoy. We touched on so many aspects of life, from the energy that animates all things to the invisible connections in between.
Listen in as we both discuss what matters most to each of us right now, of bringing humanity back into the world of business and breaking through the invisible challenges of our time, especially around mental health and wellbeing.

Masami is a 2-time TEDx speaker, Amazon Best-selling author, winner of Sustainable Business Award, and founder of a global movement B1G1. By taking a completely new look at the power of giving, she founded the non-profit organization B1G1 in 2007.

She wanted to change our perspective on giving and build a business with the capacity to solve global issues, hence B1G1 was born. Our guest on the podcast this week is Sarah Santacroce, and I love her work as she is changing the current marketing paradigm.
12 years of running a successful LinkedIn Consulting business inspired a yearning in Sarah to create a global movement that encourages people to bring more empathy and kindness to business & marketing. As a ‘Hippie turned Business Coach’, Sarah hosts the Gentle Business Revolution podcast and works with heart-centered entrepreneurs to question their assumptions when it comes to marketing & give them permission to market their business their way, the gentle way! Sarah shares a fresh perspective and doesn’t shy away from calling things out that no longer work for many of us when it comes to the current marketing model.
Today she shares her deeply authentic, gentle perspective on life, which emerged after working as a LinkedIn consultant and realizing that she was wearing a mask in her professional career. Sarah talks about the discomfort she experienced in the gap between who she truly was and who she thought she needed to be, so she could experience success in business. I think this is a place where many of us find ourselves, feeling we need to do marketing and sales in a way that feels out of integrity.
Listen in as we discuss so many different aspects of the grassroots, gentle marketing revolution, of how we can pause and reflect, to realize that the more traditional style of digital marketing is anxiety-provoking for both the business owner and the potential customer receiving the marketing. Not to mention how it’s unsustainable.
Key Takeaways
Memorable Quote
“ Why do people hate marketing so much? There are 2 reasons. First, they are not in alignment when they do what they are being told needs to be done. And second, it provokes anxiety in the marketer and the receiver” - Sarah Santacroce

Our guest on the podcast this week is Dr. Tom Garcia.
Tom is a shamanic teacher, mentor and spiritual guide with a unique gift for helping you to quickly and easily clear away the blocks that may be keeping you from reaching your dreams and experiencing peace and happiness now.
With the help of the mystical guides who led him to his own spiritual awakening, Tom’s powerful fire ceremonies gently lead you past fear and chaos, to the power of your inner spirit and the answers you seek.
Listen in as Tom and I co-create sacred space to allow what wants to emerge to be spoken through us.
Tom speaks with grounded insight into what it means to be in the world today, what is being called from us and how the fire is a metaphor for life. He shares the profound way that ritual and fire breaks us open, leveling the playing field and encouraging us to “burn with our own intensity in life”. He speaks of reclaiming the sacred and how we are being led out of the illusion of the world into our own deep and abiding truth, that this connection begins within, to transcend the self so we can be sure to ourselves and help each other awaken.
This was a deeply sacred conversation that will help you to come home to yourself at your very core, to stoke the fires that lie deep within you, to stay grounded and connected no matter what’s happening around you.
I hope you enjoy this awe-inspiring conversation as much as I did!
