Sacrilegious Discourse - Bible Study for Atheists

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 9: Jehu Anointed King of Israel / Jehu Kills Joram / Jehu Kills Ahaziah / The Death of Jezebel. Elisha does a drive-by anointing and runs for his life! A king gets dumped in a field! A queen is tossed out the window and eaten by dogs! Prophecies are fulfilled and Wife loses her voice. Good times!

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 8: The Shunammite Woman's Land Restored / Hazael Becomes King of Syria / The Reign of Jehoram of Judah / The Reign of Ahaziah of Judah. This lady walks in right as the king is hearing a story about her and it's the most ridiculous case of serendipitous timing we've ever heard cuz she happens to get all her land back just by showing up. Elisha cries, a servant murders the king, and more king-ish history boringly unfolds.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 7: Elisha and the Siege of Samaria (cont). An invisible army scares away the Arameans and some super lucky lepers lead the starving Israelites to their camp. The poor guy at the gate gets smashed but Elisha says he has it coming. We dissent. Also, Wife still sounds like there's a walrus up her dang schnozzola.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 6: The Axe Head Made to Float / Elisha and the Syrians / Elisha and the Siege of Samaria. This lady all nonchalant says she ate her son for dinner, and she's pissed that she can't eat her neighbor's kid too. People are buying bird and the king is not happy so he's probably gonna try to kill Elisha which makes zero sense.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 4: The Widow's Oil / Elisha and the Shunammite Woman / Elisha's Miracles for the Prophets. You guys! We have our second resurrection! And endless jars of oil. And magic flour. This chapter was super weird and left us feeling kinda icky.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Kings chapter 3: The Reign of Jehoram of Israel / Elisha Predicts Victory over Moab. That time when you're losing the war so you sacrifice your kid to some god. And then that other time when it actually appears to work cuz the winners go away and leave you alone. Worth it? I'm gonna say no, but that's cuz I like my kids.
