December 29, 2017Saint Louis Live S2 (with Benjamin Hochman) - 12.29.17Everyone is sick this morning, including Benjamin Hochman. We're following up on yesterday's breaking Chrissy Teigen news. Travis has some issues with the word "Nippon." What set off the discrepancy that managed to turn a flight around four hours in? Travis and Gaines have some questions about what Chris does and doesn't eat in the bedroom. Gaines wants to drive a Party Uber and call it a "Puber." Chris would happily kill anyone who breaks their leg on the Oregon Trail. There's no need to stop between here and Memphis and Jeff only stopped between here and Chicago for content. Matty Bear may be at war with Gaines. Dexter Fowler is having a baby during the season and Gaines is holding him accountable. Some people actually do have hot takes about athletes having babies during the season. Travis wouldn't trade Cuonzo for Frank Martin. Frank Martin is Cuban and Cubans may be mean. Going to the Final Four helps save his job. Zach Duke somehow made 56 appearances for the Cardinals and wrote a very nice letter thanking the city for some reason. Jeff and Randy Choate may be doing a pregame show next year. Chris wouldn't even tell on a Cardinals player who murdered someone in the clubhouse. Gary Bennett is a pretty interesting Twitterer. Joined by our good buddy Benjamin Hochman (@hochman) to break down the 2017 sports scene in St. Louis. The transition to The Athletic represents some interesting challenges. There's a demand for high level content but it's really hard to establish a foothold in the marketplace. Travis would really be shocked if the Cardinals didn't do anything else this winter. Mike Lee's Space Bar is coming after us at 9. ...more53minPlay
December 29, 2017Saint Louis Live S3 - 12.29.17It's the last Friday of 2017 so we're really shaking out the Katy Perry today. Game Time Drive Time is at Gaslight tomorrow, so make sure you check that out. We weren't always #blessed so we're struggling out here but having an excellent time with it. Gaines's highlight of 2017 was being hired by BBB and LeBron's finals performance. Jeff enjoys seeing sausage being made. Chris loves Target Practice and shaving Travis's head. Travis isn't borrowing someone's car and also putting gas in it. Giamatti has our best drops of 2017 assembled. Lady Bird is probably the most important member of the show this year. Jeff is fine with taking a taser. Would you rather have Manny Machado or have your loan debt go away? We spend some time anticipating the biggest sports story of 2018. Travis is calling a Stanley Cup victory. Travis forgot that he got to hang out with Big Al in 2017. Are we cancelling Fair or Foul at the end of the year? New Year's Eve is amateur night so please don't go out and be stupid. Travis has some fun trying to spell "Rzepczynski." Gaines actually is good at wiffle ball. Gaines also refuses to share McDoubles. Travis is sick of Papa Denman and is coming after JPD. Jeff was on the first and last show of the year and that's unlikely. Travis has some difficulty with what "reporting" is. Chris loves it when Travis interviews himself. Travis is going to walk an hour a week in 2018. Gaines won't say a full sentence to a stranger in 2018. Sex robots are an important part of being a kept man. What the hell happened to Tim Hortons? Travis wants a coffee shop but it can only be black. Mike Girsch really needs a nickname. We might do Target Practice Mo from across the street. Fair or Foul closes 2017 as always....more46minPlay
December 28, 2017Saint Louis Live Wake Up Hour - 12.28.17We're back from Christmas but the Blues still can't score any goals. The loss of Schwartz has been huge but the depth players simply have to step up more than they have so far this season. The World Juniors kicked off over the break and Jeff promises that junior hockey can actually be interesting to watch sometimes. The Blues extended Doug Armstrong yesterday, so he's the guy they're going to trust to shepherd them through another retooling. Most of Armstrong's trades have been impressive but his contract extensions have been fairly questionable. The Steen deal is almost certainly going to be an albatross moving forward. The St. Louis lawsuit against the NFL is progressing and the NFL certainly doesn't want anyone to be deposed. St. Louis may not be willing to settle if they're out for blood more than money. ...more47minPlay
December 28, 2017Saint Louis Live S1 (with Martin Rucker) - 12.28.17Happy Thursday but Monday! We were all happy to be off. The hawk is definitely out this morning. Mizzou did not have much of a good week while we were gone. Gaines was happy to be justified in his belief that Barry Odom is not a good coach. Tom Herman spiked the ball on Drew Lock and Gaines thinks it's OK to be upset about it. If the NCAA is going to sell amateurism then the coaches should pretend like that's a thing too. Travis stepped out into multiple hawks this morning. Travis is asked to spell "Kwanzaa" and does pretty well with it. Chris got a Google Home and a security camera for Christmas but he's the only prowler. Gaines is a French cuffs and cufflinks guy. Travis was none too pleased with the Tigers. The punter was the MVP for Texas last night. Taking the ball out of Lock's hands to start the game was a bad choice. Marcell Frazier blamed Josh Heupel and it's certainly an excuse even if it's a fair one. Gaines thinks Barry Odom is not qualified to be a head coach in the SEC and has the least impressive resume of anyone in the conference. Last night probably gives Drew Lock some hesitation about coming back. Joined LIVE by Martin Rucker (@RuckerSouthSide) to break down all the Mizzou fun. Mizzou undermined pretty much everything they've been working on for weeks with their flawed game plan last night. What is Barry Odom going to do with talent once it reaches the field even if he's able to recruit? Landing one big recruit can have a huge snowball effect on the rest of the roster. Setting up recruiting pipelines is really important for the future. ...more47minPlay
December 28, 2017Saint Louis Live S2 (with Sam Snelling) - 12.28.17We're recording Game Time Drive Time live on Saturday because it's hard to talk about the Hurricanes otherwise. Joined by Sam Snelling (@SamTSnelling) of Rock M Nation to talk some Mizzou hoops. KFB definitely gets to take a lap today. Mizzou shot poorly but Illinois did a great job of making Mizzou take bad shots. Brad Underwood may not be a great recruiter but he's definitely a better in-game coach. Travis is giving Yale some tips on smack talking because he's trying to cross over too many sports. Jeff busts out 90 seconds of Blues talk and then we get out Morning Melee and Fair Or Foul. Travis doesn't understand why white kids walk home by themselves in a town where kids are always getting kidnapped (he saw It). Gaines is waging war on The Last Jedi. We're mostly a prize laundering front. Gaines is going to fight Hockey Bob at lunch if he steals any food. Hockey Bob calls in to drop some names. Travis is a fan! He's a True Son! And he's yelling about it! The best sports day of 2017 was probably on January 2nd. Gaines is really not having it with Stu Durando. Travis says he's not a pocket watcher and encourages other people to spend all their money. Jeff read Ned Coletti's book and Travis thinks he's turning in to Bernie. Travis gets called out for supporting a slave state and he says there are great people on both sides. Is Jeff a one upper? Quantrill's nickname might have been "Many Sides." It's hard for us to tell if we feel fatter. Travis is glad the adult sites were also in the Christmas spirit. Marshmallow Christmas wreaths are divisive. ...more51minPlay
December 28, 2017Saint Louis Live S3 - 12.28.17Giamatti is banging this morning. He might be our house DJ. Chrissy Tiegen had a pretty un-fun trip to Tokyo this weekend. It might have been a little more logical to just go on ahead to Tokyo. The airline picked a pretty bad flight to turn around when you had a huge social media presence on board. Travis saw Bright over break and we weren't particularly impressed by it. Gaines really doesn't like the plot of The Last Jedi. Travis talked himself into liking Batman v. Superman and thinks Jeff has done the same thing with TLJ. If Black Panther is bad, Travis will be its biggest apologist. Travis defends things in public that he goes after in the community. Cardi B makes money moves so she'll probably be fine. Ben Fred had some hot takes on MPJ and Travis is soft on the Porters. The lack of follow on the Porter interview is really frustrating for people who cover the team. Gaines thinks he needs to be facing the Mizzou media if he's going to do national press. Travis may be Truman The Tiger in his spare time. Some high school programs aren't willing to engage Mizzou because of some of the PR-related behavior. Mizzou really doesn't have the clout to be treating everyone like Bill Belichick. We may or may not ever get the real story with whatever is actually going on with Michael Porter. Eli Apple had to poop yesterday and imagine the horror of saying it in front of female reporters. It's really shocking that Spagnuolo couldn't pull the Giants together. We all forgot the Chargers weren't in San Diego any more. Todd Gurley maybe should be the NFL MVP. Jimmy GQ looks like he's the real deal in San Francisco. James Harrison is a Patriot and his old teammates are not impressed. Fair or Foul closes the show as always. ...more52minPlay
December 27, 2017Game Time Drive Time Ep. 21 - 12.27.17 vs. NashvilleBrad and Jeff return after an extended holiday break to discuss this evening's match up with the Nashville Predators. The discussion leans heavily on the contract extension given to Doug Armstrong and also features some discussion on the wide open Western Conference and the spelling of Jaccob Slavin's name. ...more38minPlay
December 22, 2017Saint Louis Live Wake Up Hour - 12.22.17The Blues lost in Edmonton last night and it continues to be a long December. It's hard to blame Allen for McDavid scoring on a 2 on 1, but sometimes the goalie needs to step up. Jeff goes through the scoring streaks that players are on or not on right now and the numbers are ugly. Going through potential rentals highlights a serious problem with the salary structure the Blues are dealing with. Alex Steen's deal is going to be brutal. Travis shows up for the last segment of the Wake Up Hour and there's some mini-Fair or Foul around Starbucks being open on Christmas....more50minPlay
December 22, 2017Saint Louis Live S1 - 12.22.17It's our last show before Christmas and it's a happy Friday. Momma Gaines sent along treats this morning and Travis gives her a sultry thank you. Chris is off of DMX Rudolph. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is currently incarcerated and playing for the Lakers. KCP has to play basketball with a lojack on and the Pepe guys might be making a meme out of him. Papa John got himself canned. Diddy should buy Papa John's and call it Big Papa's. The Papa John news got dropped over Christmas which makes a lot of sense. Jeffersontown, KY doesn't seem like a great place. Travis gets heated when people yell "Blackfish" at him in public. One way to get your Christmas spirit back is to watch all of the Christmas episodes of The Office. At least Dwight Schrute knows not to throw on the black face. Did black face work in Tropic Thunder? European soccer is basically racist as hell all the time. Are we impish or admirable? Every mom knows how to curl ribbons with scissors. The NFL is ripping off Barstool and Barstool sent them a C&D. Jim Edmonds is having twin boys and may have a little black in him. Jeff gives the 90 second hockey update. Giamatti is having a rave in the audio booth. The Cardinals offseason may now not be headed in a good direction. The market has been extremely slow this winter. The Reds are absolutely lost right now and headed in no direction. Joey Votto isn't leaving Cincinnati and it leaves them handcuffed. San Francisco is way too overpriced. Travis is a rich boy for going to San Francisco. Vince McMahon liquidated $100M and the XFL is coming. St. Louis has a rich history of arena football. If there's an audience for bad college football, there's probably an audience for bad professional football. The Wilpons may or may not be broke boys. It turns out they actually made money off of Madoff. HBO makes some good ass movies. So many actors got wrecked but at least Jason Priestley wrecked Harvey back a little. ...more51minPlay
December 22, 2017Saint Louis Live S2 (with Benjamin Hochman) - 12.22.17Miley brings us back from break and we play a guessing game that never has her name in it. Starbucks is giving away gift cards today and Jeff might hate homeless people. Hockey Bob calls in with holiday greetings and he has some feelings on Howard Cosell and Meg Ryan. Is Hockey Bob a better caller than Caller JR? Dick Enberg passed away and it's super sad. Jeff tries talking about the Olympics and hockey and no one cares but Travis is excited for Pyongchang. Having a Winter Olympics that close to North Korea may not be a great idea. This is an excellent opportunity to write a sequel to The Interview. Travis insists that Michael Porter is coming back for the SEC tournament. Travis confused Cuonzo Martin and Frank Haith and has had a racist couple of minutes here on the show. Chris got okey doked by Dan Caesar who is terrible at his job. We can have Dan host the WALies. Brenda Warner has an Arizona look now and not a Joy 99 look. We're joined LIVE by our dear friend Benjamin Hochman (@hochman) of the Post-Dispatch to talk about his story on Jake Bain and a variety of other fun things. ...more51minPlay
