Jada joins Chris, Travis, and Jeff for a deeeeeep conversation. The gang discusses the trials and tribulations of pursuing creative careers while balancing real life expectations. Enjoy!
The Scottrade renovations were released yesterday and there was an
event for season ticket holders. Jeff got some audio from some lovely
people last night. Travis didn't really know who Billy Joel is. Pi
Pizzeria owner has some comments about the Police Department. A new
Terminator film. Friday Night Live! headed to South County. The
readings of Fair or Foul close out the show as it does every day.
The Redbirds lost which we are super disappointed as we are the show
of record go the Memphis redbirds. The Cardinals won last night which
we are equally as disappointed in. Bill Plaschke of the LA times
writes an interesting article. The morning melee and fair or foul are
released. Kevin Hart is back to tweeting and on Instagram. Pat Neshek
put Zack Greinke on blast for not getting an autograph.
Travis is very excited this morning because he is going to meet his
Italian wife today. Donald Trump gives us today's call of the game.
Dr. Ed makes his return to the program after a stint in Italy. Dr. Ed
is best friend's with the Pope. Dr. Ed rode 170 miles in 6 days in
lovely Italia, met some goats and sheep. He ate some wonderful food.
Dr. Ed answers some questions from the listeners.
Gaines wants to hop right in to Blues talk while Jeff was willing to let it breathe a little. Blues lose, Cards win, and the Memphis Redbirds lose while we’re at it. Hard to read a lot in to preseason hockey but fun to watch it, at least. Working Jedd Gyorko back in to the lineup last night was weird. Jeff is torn between two concerts on Thursday and may not end up at either. Gaines has never been to the Fox for a concert and Jeff accidentally sat in the handicapped section once. Why does the YMCA have a unique smell? Gaines was always an umpire in the summer and Jeff worked at a pool. Are pool tacos any good? The Rams were here for 20 years, but it really feels like two eras. Ken Hitchcock has a giant “hockey” sweatshirt because moving around a lot makes it hard to commit to clothes.
The Fair or Foul and Morning Melee are released to begin the second
hour. Who is the most talented man in Hollywood? The answer is
Sandler. Sandler kicks Jamie Foxx's ass in box office. We have an idea
for the next batman trilogy. A lot of Batman talk which bleeds into
Jim Carrey talk about what is going on? A lot of box office talk. Go
Redbirds! Giants got killed by the Lions. Boxing has a great fight and
ruins it by the decision.
Chris went to lunch yesterday at a pizza place and got a chicken
salad. Gucci Mane is collaborating with Jake Paul. Jeff thinks OJ has
never seen an iPhone. A talk about the state of Saint Louis takes up a
large part of the first hour.
There’s no baseball to watch, which is OK by Gaines since the Cardinals are definitely out of it. Jack Flaherty pitching in Cincinnati feels like it could be a problem, but we’re trying hard not to care. Blues have a game tonight and everyone is really excited about it. We break down the lineup, the handedness of forwards and goalies, and talk about Robby Fabbri playing center. Covering games can be hard if you don’t know where you’re supposed to go, so just follow everyone. The White Sox are growing managers and Gaines wants to innovate by paying coordinators more than head coaches. The Cards chew up bullpen arms.
The Jaguars sign Ryan Nassib. They remain a team that is perplexing
why Colin Kaepernick is not in Jacksonville. Yale Hollander joins the
guys in studio to discuss his life and comedy career. Fair or Foul
readings a little early today. Dave Dameshek joins the guys to close
out the show.
The fellas continue discussion of the Cardinals debacle from the weekend and Thatcher from Chicago calls in to show off his journalism skills with a question he hit Matheny with while in Chicago. He also congratulates Dan Paschen, Mizzou AND Olive Garden alum on his big Emmy win last night for The Voice. Fair or Foul takes us home and the show is complete.
