USC LAFB: A USC Trojans Show

Well, the USC Trojans escaped Rutgers with an ugly 42-35 win. The offense did some good things, but the defense took a big step backward, and Lincoln Riley still made some questionable decisions.

Here is my immediate reaction.

The Athletic just released a report detailing over 68 college football NIL budgets for the 2026 season. The USC Trojans rank pretty much exactly where we have been saying they are in terms of spending.

Is this a good spot, and how can developing players aid in sustained success for years to come?

Servite LB Allen Kennett V is one of the USC Trojans' top 2028 priorities. However, he just received an expert prediction to commit to Texas.

What does this mean, and how can the Trojans get back in the lead? Is there another top LB they could be pursuing?

We are just about 24 hours away from the USC Trojans taking on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. These are the 4 things that I need to see from the Trojans.

A victory is the most important thing, but there are also kinks that need working out and personnel groupings that could be tested out before tougher opponents.

The USC Trojans currently have one commitment in their 2028 class, but expert predictions keep rolling in, and we could see a few commitments soon.

They just received 3 more predictions, all for very talented players. Here is everything you need to know.

The latest Big Ten Availability Report just dropped, and the USC Trojans made a major update. Yesterday, star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart was listed as QUESTIONABLE. Today, he was moved to OUT.

Is this just another precaution to give his foot more time to heal, or is this lingering injury becoming an actual concern?

Plus, I provide an update on Trent Mosley.

The USC Trojans took a small transfer portal class this cycle, but so far it is paying major dividends. The players are also fitting into the roles that we expected them to during Spring and Fall Camp.

What is the ceiling for this group, and can they keep it up in Big Ten play?

The USC Trojans just wrapped up their Wednesday practice and released their first Big Ten Availability report of the season. Unfortunately, it came with some dire news.

Star freshman wide receiver Trent Mosley will be OUT for the Rutgers game and, according to Coach Riley, could miss an extended period of time. Here is the full report:

OUT

WR Trent Mosley

DOUBTFUL

S Madden Riordan

QUESTIONABLE:

DL Jahkeem Stewart

I break it all down, plus comments from Lincoln Riley, Christian Pierce, Jide Abasiri, and Alex VanSumeren.

We go behind enemy lines! Richie O'Leary of The Knight Report of On3 and The Knight Report Podcast joins the show to give us inside intel on this Rutgers team.

Are they as bad as their record dictates? Do they have some bright spots? How much of a mismatch is WR KJ Duff?
