Dr. Antony Jeevarajan currently serves as Deputy Division Chief, Biomedical Research and Environmental Sciences Division under the Human Health and Performance (HH&P) Directorate at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The Biomedical Research and Environmental Sciences (BR&ES) Division conducts research and performs operational activities related to Human Exploration Spaceflight programs.

In India, law prohibits mercy killing even if the person is terminally ill and it amounts to murder. However, there is a social practice known as “Thalaikkooththal” by which frail elderly people are put to sleep with the knowledge of the family members. Geronticide – killing of elderly intentionally has been a feature of many societies including India. Dr M Priyamvadha, Assistant Professor of Criminology at University of Madras, has conducted an extensive study in three districts and shares her findings with Kulasegaram Sanchayan.

Unveil 2016 is a social awareness campaign organised by the students of the Department of Journalism, Madras Christian College, Chennai.Unveil, is targeted majorly for the youth, who gets discriminated by people ranging from their own parents to unknown strangers. This is a step taken in lending them a shoulder and shouting out that acceptance along with the pride is a wonder to behold.

In this episode of Kalaththulli, Kulasegaram Sanchayan focuses on Dr Victor Chang, who performed the first successful heart transplant in Australia on February 24, 1984.  The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, to enable research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart muscle diseases, was launched in honour of Victor Chang on 15 February 1994.
