Welcome to all of my new subscribers and listeners-and thank you! Thank you for taking the time…for allowing me to be, well…me. Imperfectly. You’ll see. I am allowing you to go on this journey with me through my own fear of putting myself out here and walking through correcting my “ums” and “stuffs” while interviewing people. I currently do not edit my podcasts because life is not edited. So you get to see the shit messy, with bloopers, mess ups, and the way it happens. You know, the Sane-ish way… I hope that way, you enjoy it best. Love to you all. Holley

What if you knew exactly where your addiction began? Sally Jones shares with us her story of being adopted and how growing up even in the most loving home with two of the best parents she could have ever asked for, still made her feel less than and abandoned. Teased and tormented in school she managed to make it by soothing her pain with alcohol. Later though, life took an unexpected turn and a devastating back surgery turned her to abusing prescription drugs. Relapse after relapse she felt her life was pretty much over. Until a special encounter asked her a poignant question: have you prayed? Listen as Sally unapologetically talks about her relapses, but explains every step it took to get to where she successfully is today. There are many laughs along the way, too!

Tiffany Bond joins us to share her story of going through childhood with divorce, rape, trauma, addiction all while also dealing with mental health issues. All of those issues led her to a painful pattern of abusive relationships. Once she escaped with her children, found recovery, and was given an award by the Mayor for her hard-earned efforts, she crashed, again-relapsed. That didn’t stop her though. She used her relapse as a learning experience and springboarded off of it! Listen as she explains how she’s flipped the script!

Jasmine Bootle from our Canadian fellowship and Everyone is Addicted Podcast shares how life; even in recovery, can toss some unexpected, difficult, and sometimes painful lessons along our journey. While there are definitely many miracles to be had in recovery, life still has its challenges, too. Peaks and valleys. How does one handle the stress? Anxiety? Loss? How does one cope? In Canada, similar to the US, Fentanyl and Fentanyl use is beyond extreme. However the street form in Canada is cut with…well, who knows? Russian Roulette is too high of a risk game not worth playing, in this case. Join us as Jasmine not only shares her own experience, but shares her tips on staying in the middle of the heard, always helping others, while also staying clean and sober-no matter what!

What would you do if you had a secret you felt you couldn’t share with ANYONE because you felt so ashamed, alone, and absolutely no one would understand? No. It’s not that. What if you couldn’t read? What if you had learning disabilities? Growing up even educators told you YOU were stupid?
Could you bounce back? Courtney leads us through her journey of strength through dyslexia and childhood trauma. Although her path could be perceived “sidewinded” by some, ultimately she has come out on top. Today, she has recovery under her belt, as well as a solid marriage for many years with an awesome guy, and three successful children whom she couldn’t be more proud! Did I mention the dogs and the chickens, too? Listen, so you can be in awe!
