  • Thirumandhiram 578: The Power of Intuition |

    Lines 1 and 2:

The primordial energy is omnipresent, and we can see that it also exists within humans. Controlling the mind that moves through the senses that means, instead of letting the mind wander through the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and body, it is turned inward.

The Inner spiritual power within you gives you a command every time before you do any action. That is what is referred to as the inner voice or intuition. Everyone has it. One must listen to what that inner Shiva (divine presence) within the consciousness is saying, and act accordingly. When you act according to what moves or guides you from within, you can see many qualities (gunas) — all of them exist within you. Explore within yourself. What is true education? It is what already exists within you.
Set your mind in the Ajna Chakra. Understand the mind with the mind itself. Whatever arises, bring it to the space between the eyebrows (third eye centre) and dissolve it there. That is where the Guru is always present. The Guru Is always within you, in your third eye, to guide you. The Guru constantly thinks only of transforming disciples into beings of wisdom. Ignorance should not remain — he urges you to overcome ignorance through knowledge. In the path of wisdom, devotion is one stage, then comes action (karma) in wisdom, and finally, wisdom itself in its purest form. Thirumoolar says that by placing your focus in the Ajna (third eye), you can attain the qualities of the Shiva who resides within you.
There must be swiftness — in whatever we do, there must be swiftness, and even in meditation, there must be swiftness. Without swiftness, no action can be accomplished.
When one is in the form of the father’s seed or in the mother’s womb, there is no name. Only after birth is a name given. That essence in the womb is Brahman itself. The Divine, who is all-pervading and cannot be removed from anywhere, has no specific name. We refer to God as the one beyond name, form, and differences. We can choose any name to call upon that Supreme. To the voice that calls with love, that Divine Power will certainly listen. When you attain the authority of true love, and place your focus at the Ajna (third eye), the universal energy will definitely respond. The Guru declares: Trust yourself fully — with complete faith — and that power will act through you.

    Lines 3 and 4:

To be free from both pleasure and pain — that neutral state is the true state of being. One must realize this truth. “From ancient times, the eternal Marai (Vedas) have conveyed this reality. What was spoken in the Vedic age through the Vedas — that eternal truth — can now be seen right here, within you,” says Thirumoolar.
If we call upon the Divine with true self-confidence, the voice that calls will surely be heard — and He will enter within us. For the Divine to fully enter us, both the external instruments (pura karanam) and the internal instruments (aga karanam) must be completely aligned. When we call upon Him with such inner integration — with melting devotion, faith, and trust — we can truly feel His presence working within us.

  • (Needs to be re edited)The Soul’s Fragrance: Love and Wisdom |

    Pg. No : 144, 146

Esteemed seekers of truth, by freeing yourselves from ignorance, you will come to understand genuine wisdom. The remarkable institution that imparts this profound knowledge is none other than our UPF – Universal Peace Foundation.

Many individuals feel a strong desire to discover their true soul. They wonder—can we see the soul, or at least sense its presence? The reality is that the soul transcends ordinary thought and cannot be perceived by the senses. So how does one come to realize the soul? How can one truly comprehend love? What exactly is grace? What defines true knowledge? These deep questions can be explored and understood through sincere meditation and spiritual practice.

The soul can be compared to a fruit. Just as fragrance comes from a flower and from a fruit, love must flow naturally from a person. This love is the true essence, the fragrance of the soul. When we gaze upon a baby’s face, we often liken its beauty to divine grace, because that pure beauty feels like the very essence of grace.

Thus, the soul is like a fruit, love is its fragrance, and grace is its beauty. Same way wisdom is also the essence of the soul. A single simple word from the Guru carries immense power. If you can truly grasp the divine wisdom that arises within you, it is as if you have received the blessings of a thousand Gurus.

  • When Does the Mind Remain Still and Calm? |

How does one truly remain still? It is not just the stillness of the limbs. True stillness is when the inner faculties — mind, intellect, memory, and ego — are surpassed, and one rests in clarity within the core of pure consciousness

This is what is meant when it is said that the ‘Shivalingam is revealed within the siddham (pure consciousness).’ But our minds remain disturbed because we are attached to perishable objects. Everything that arises in this world is destined to disappear. So when we form attachments to these impermanent things, the mind becomes agitated by the processes of their growth, decay, and disappearance.

Though the world around us is ever-changing and perishable, there exists one unchanging reality — the eternal. Just as gold remains the same whether it is shaped into a necklace, a bangle, or a waist chain, the essence does not change even though the form and name do. Likewise, the Atma, the true Self, is eternal and unchanging.

The mind remains undisturbed when its attachment is placed on that which is eternal and imperishable. At present, it is restless because we cling to transient things that come and go. As these change — whether they grow or diminish — the mind is thrown into agitation. But when the mind is anchored in the eternal, the unchanging truth, it neither wavers nor hesitates; it rests in calm clarity.

That is why it is said: begin by having faith in yourself. But to develop that faith, first trust the words and guidance of the wise. The Vedas say the words of realized beings are divine. And those who have true faith are never abandoned.

  • India: The University of the Spiritual Knowledge |

Awareness is Brahman, awareness is God. The Vedas say ‘Pragyanam Brahma.’ Pragyanam means awareness, inner awareness, inward consciousness. Inner awareness is Brahman. This inner awareness, this deep knowing within, is none other than God.

To truly worship Brahman, one must become Brahman — by realizing it within. Just as one who understands the physical world is called a scientist, one who realizes Brahman is called a *Brahma Jnani*. Attaining this state is the pinnacle of human evolution. And to reach it, one must pursue Brahma Jnana — the knowledge of ultimate reality.

While the world is filled with universities that teach science and worldly knowledge, there is one land that offers the wisdom of the soul, the truth, and the source of all existence — that land is India.

India is more than a nation; it is a living university of spiritual knowledge. From the very start, it teaches you that you are the soul. In the Gurukula system, the journey begins with the *naming ceremony* — not for the body or mind, but for the soul. This name carries the vibration of one’s spiritual essence and identity.

  • Kundalini Initiation: The Awakening Touch of Truth |

When your inner energy awakens, the whole universe responds. If you connect with your true source, even the foundation of creation stirs. This is told in a tamil song – ‘நான் அசைந்தால் அசையும் அகிலம் எல்லாம்’. Such great power lies within you. Recognize that the divine energy of the universe is already inside you. Such supreme power belongs to the human being. Other living beings and ordinary people cannot realize this. That is why you are the wise ones. Only the wise can truly understand this within them.
The Guru,  initiates this energy through his touch — the Kundalini — and giving initiation (upadesam), causes even the root energy to tremble. He then guides that power upward through the central channel (the Sushumna Nadi), And leads the force that moves the entire universe back to its source — the stillness of pure being. The Guru leads the initiated soul to a state beyond rebirth.
In today’s world, no hidden knowledge will come just by pointing at it. It won’t awaken through mere words. True initiation is through direct transmission —That is what the Guru does through this sacred touch of Upadesam. Until now, our scriptures — the Śruti, Vedas, and Shastras — have all spoken about the Truth, but they have not shown it through direct experience. The Vedas speak deeply about the Self:
    ‘This is the Atman (Self),’
‘Brahman is that which lies beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep,’
    ‘I am Brahman’ (Aham Brahmasmi),
‘You are That’ (Tat Tvam Asi),
‘Pure Consciousness is Brahman’ (Prajñānam Brahma)
But here, it is not just said — it is directly experienced. To realize this Truth is to bring an end to the cycle of birth.

  • What is a Guru’s True Purpose? |

Paranjothi Mahaan is not just a physical form—he is an everlasting soul. While some may wonder or even question why Gurumahan doesn’t frequently speak about him, But it isn’t necessary to keep talking about our Father all the time. What truly matters is that we follow and live by the principles and guidance that he has already given us.

The vision he laid out in 1950 is what continues to unfold even today. It isn’t we who are making it happen—it's the power of that vision itself that drives the progress. And for any instrument to work well, its source or cause must be pure and strong.

A mother naturally desires to see her child grow into someone remarkable. A father often dreams of his son surpassing him.  A teacher takes pride when the knowledge he has imparted is shared and passed on to others. In the same way, a true Guru has only one aspiration—that every individual reaches the same supreme state of realization that he has attained.

  • Thirumandhiram 579: How to attain inner stillness with the help of breath |

    Where is Shiva(pure consciousness)?
According to Thirumandhiram, core energy  resides below the navel about 12 finger-widths below belly button  in-between the anus and  urethra. This area is known as the Muladhara Chakra or Root Chakra, the seat of the supreme Kundalini Shakti. Normally the energy center in this Mooladhara represents Devi philosophy, the energy center in the Forehead center represents the Siva Philosophy.

Merging the core Shakthi, the Devi from the Mooladhara with the Shiva in forehead center is shown in various representations and ways of worship in the temples.

Rituals like 'Palli Seerththal' (divine rest at night) and 'Thiru Palli Ezhuchi' (divine awakening in the morning) represent this union of energy and consciousness. They point out that the external worship must also happen within, through self-awareness and wisdom (Jnana).

    Line – 2:

Though there are various mantras l, after several research, it was found out that in this universe, the inward breath is  "SHA",  the external breath is  "HA". This mantra is called "Hamsa" mantra meaning  "I am That" — referring to the oneness of the self with the Divine. The inward breath travel with this body, this is termed as "Amirtha Vahini". This inward breath represent Shakthi Thathuva. Outward breath represents Shiva Thathuva. The nature of shiva is to burn. The air that goes inside as Oxygen, burns and comes out as carbon dioxide.

    Line – 3 and 4:
In Pranayama, it is important to firstly breathe in through left nostril and then breathe out through right nostril.

The breath through the left nostril is known as Chandra Kalai , and through the right nostril, as Surya Kalai.

As you consciously breathe — "Saa" in through the left, "Haa" out through the right — the mind begins to follow the breath.

"Where the mind is focussed, there the breath travels."

As one practices channelising the breath with mind, the mind merges with breath, experiences pranashakthi and merges with the life force- Prana Shakthi travelling within and becomes still.

When the mind is restless, and when we are angry, breath becomes very unstable and also unable to breath. So when the mind is agitated, breath also becomes agitated. Also we start breathing faster and lose our energy.

Therefore by channelising the breath, mind becomes calm and prana Shakthi increases.  At this stage with the help of prana Shakthi, mind can be directed. This prana Shakthi creates subtle vibration. This divine vibration is experienced as the sound Ha and Sha as found by our ancient yogi's and rishis.

When you become fully aware of this, the divine energy inside begins to naturally reveal itself.
