Welcome back to part 2 of my interview with Adell Coleman-DuBose (Chief Content Officer of DCP Entertainment and host of the award winning podcast, "Say Their Name"). I encourage you listen to part 1, where we discussed, "How Do I Mentally Return Back to Normal after Covid"?
In this bonus episode, we chat with Adell about her own podcast, "Say Their Name"! The concept of STN is to give a platform to families (whose lives were negatively impacted by police encounters) a chance to express who their loved ones were so their memory won't be dehumanized.
"Say Their Name" podcast has been a lifesaver, especially during the pandemic, because it enabled many to deal with those tragic events that were negatively affecting their mental health.
MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
But the mental health of our CHILDREN should be our MAIN concern. We need to close the gap for our children's mental health according to NAMI and I couldn't agree more. My heart bleeds for our children because of all the things their young minds have to process from pandemic concerns to racial injustice to any and everything else. Let's make a collective effort to SAVE our children's mental health! Parents, schools and primary care physicians are crucial allies to help!
In part 2 of this episode, we solicit the help of our special guest, Joshua Metoyer, (Illinois) Law Enforcement Officer, to help us understand how a young adult views this crisis with our children!
