  • Crushing the Head of the Serpent, Part 2
In the climactic finale of human history, we saw four ways of how God will deal with Satan for good that should cause us to rejoice in His faithfulness. The first was seeing how God is sovereign over Satan and how God will permit the release of Satan for his demise and God's glory. The second way was how God will reveal Satan's army and how that army will consist of all those who will not believe and accept Jesus as their Lord. On this Sunday, we will examine the final two ways of how God will deal with Satan that should remind and encourage us of God's everlasting love and faithfulness towards His people for His glory. • #30: Priest & King (Q&A #31, Part 2)
Heidelberg Catechism Q. 31 teaches that Christ is called "Anointed" because He is ordained by the Father and anointed with the Holy Spirit as our Prophet, High Priest, and King. This lesson focuses on Christ's offices as **Priest and King**. As Priest, Christ fulfills the Old Testament priesthoods represented by Adam, Melchizedek, and Aaron. Adam served as a priest in Eden, representing mankind before God. Melchizedek was both priest and king, foreshadowing Christ's unique and everlasting priesthood. The Aaronic priests sacrificed, interceded, and blessed, pointing forward to Christ, the great High Priest. Christ is both the Priest and the perfect sacrifice. Unlike the repeated sacrifices of the Old Testament, He offered Himself once for all, perfectly satisfying God's justice and eternally redeeming His people. He continues His priestly work by interceding for them before the Father and blessing them with salvation, grace, mercy, the Holy Spirit, and every spiritual blessing. His sacrifice, intercession, and blessing cannot be separated. As King, Christ fulfills the Old Testament kings, especially David. Unlike earthly kings, whose kingdoms were temporary and limited to Israel, Christ possesses an eternal kingdom and rules over all creation. He conquers not through earthly weapons but through humility, suffering, sacrificial death, His Word, and His Spirit. Christ reigns by ruling His people and His church, defending and preserving His people, and conquering every enemy—including sin, Satan, and death. He is the almighty King who will ultimately place every enemy under His feet.

  • God's Grace Is Sufficient For You
The sermon explores the Apostle Paul's experience of a heavenly revelation and his subsequent thorn in the flesh to illustrate that God's grace is sufficient for all believers. It contrasts human pride with divine humility, explaining that suffering serves to keep Christians dependent on God rather than their own strength. The central message emphasizes that God's power is perfected in human weakness, transforming trials into opportunities for Christ's glory. By trusting in God's sovereign providence, believers find comfort and strength even when their prayers for relief are unanswered. Ultimately, the text calls listeners to boast only in their weaknesses so that the power of Christ may dwell in them.

When Christ is LORD of all, then we will limit our liberties in LOVE. The Local church is God's "Department of WAR" against the devious stratagems of Satan. Legalism has been one of his most effective schemes.

  • Not Ashamed of the Gospel
The sermon introduces a new series on the Book of Romans by contrasting the deceptive whispers of Satan with the transformative power of the gospel. It highlights Paul's mission to preach Christ where it has not been heard and his determination to remain unashamed of the message despite cultural pressures. The central theme emphasizes that the gospel is the sole power for salvation, breaking down all social and spiritual barriers through faith in Jesus Christ. Believers are called to recognize their separation unto the gospel and to actively share this truth with others. Ultimately, the message urges the audience to stand firm in biblical authority against doubt and to embrace the confidence found in Christ's redemptive work.
