Twenty two years ago today, no American could envision the changes that only 24 hours would bring.  On the next morning, several hundred people boarded airliners in the US that would never reach their destinations. A few thousand more in NYC and at the Pentagon would not survive that morning.  But until those horrific moments when a stunned world watched a vision that would haunt those who saw it for the rest of our lives, life was very normal. As I said recently, I will not compose a regular podcast, but for this I am making an exception.  This is a prequel to tomorrow's remembrances of that fateful day at its aftermath. Frequently during the last few days many on both the left and right have been critical of President Biden's handling of the situation in Afghanistan. The problem is that the whole war there belongs to the errors of all three prior presidents far more than the current one.  There is almost no way it could have been anticipated that the Taliban would have made such progress in days instead of weeks or months.  The "trained" Afghan army disappeared one way or another and the leader who had assured President Biden they would be able to handle the Taliban snuck out of the country and is now in the United Arab Emirates, safely away from what the rest of the Afghan people will either applaud or dread.  We did not learn the lessons of history nor of Vietnam.  Just don't heap the blame on Joe Biden because most of this country wanted the war over with.

Covid 19's Delta Variant and the response to it by governors, especially DeSantis in Florida and Sexual Harassment and its latest celebrity involved, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo are the topics of this podcast.  In Florida, the governor has chosen politics over public health, that would be bad enough if it were adults as in the initial pandemic.  However, we know that Delta easily affects children as well.  HIs refusal to allow mask mandates, in some cases ignored by districts, puts children in jeopardy. In the case of the NY governor, what he believes  his normal behavior being misinterpreted is ignoring the seriousness of his actions and how it psychologically affects the people involved.  thanks for listening.  The video will be available on my you tube channel and a link should be available on my website:wethepeople4democracy.net.
