Figuring both that the third time is a charm and "Empire" has shown them the way, the NBC network is mounting an ambitious live production of the musical "The Wiz" on Thursday, Dec 3. A lot of talented and famous people (we'll let you decided who is which or both) are a part of it - Kenny Leon, Harvey Fierstein, Queen Latifah, Elijah Kelley, Ne-Yo, David Alan Grier, Mary J. Blige, and young newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy.

Quentin Tarantino, self-proclaimed savior of Black male pride, is out here saying terrible things about the history of American slavery and race. Even worse, he's saying them in the New York Times. Clearly he must be stopped; while we don't quite have the power to do that, we do have the power to explain why what's he's saying (and doing) is indeed problematic.
