    Tips and resources:

-Spend time reading the previous section to keep the context of this passage in mind.

-Look up meanings of words: https://biblehub.com/lexicon/ephesians/4-25.htm

-Read the passage in multiple translations: https://biblehub.com/ephesians/4-25.htm

-Write out Ephesians 4:32 and post it somewhere you can see it.  When you are struggling with the sins listed in the previous verses, recite this verse and pray to ask the Lord to help you live out Ephesians 4:32

  • Episode 04 - Passage: Ephesians 4:17-24

Episode Description: In this episode we chat through Ephesians 4:17-24. Paul reminds us that our lives should reflect our new identity in Christ, not who we used to be before Christ, darkened, alienated, and hard. We are called to PUT OFF our old ways and thinking and PUT ON our new selves in the likeness of God.

    Take Action:

    • Re-read Ephesians 1:3-14. What parts of your true identity in Christ are hardest for you to “put on”?
    • What sins/temptations are you allowing to hover around like turkey vultures or hang around like an old nasty clothing item? How can you put those thoughts/sins off and put on Christ?
    • Read Ephesians 4:25-5:1 for next week!

    Study tools/tips and resources:

    • Twistables or any Bible highlighters
    • Look up word usage in Blue Letter Bible or Studylight.org to see where the same words are used throughout the Bible
    • List the contrasts you see in a section of Scripture (ex: darkened, alienated, ignorant vs likeness of God, righteousness, holiness)

  • Episode 03 - Passage: Ephesians 4:7-16

    Episode Description:
In this episode we walk through Ephesians 4:7-16 that reminds us and proclaims that Jesus is Victor and has full authority to give gifts. He has given gifts to men to lead, equip and build up the church the Church.  What do we do with passages that are hard to understand and leave us with questions?

    Take Action:
-Look up the spiritual gifts listed elsewhere (1 Cor. 12, Romans 12)
-Ask yourself: Am I using my gift to benefit my local church?  Am I saying “yes” whenever I can while staying balanced with “no” when necessary?
-Read Ephesians 4:17-24 for next week!

    Study tools/tips and resources

    • Cross reference passages that bring up questions.  Let scripture interpret scripture!
    • Try paraphrasing a passage after you’ve studied it.  Think of it as though you are trying to explain what the passage is saying in your own words to a brand new believer.  This is a great way to gauge your understanding of a passage.
    • Read the full context of quoted references.  For example, Psalm 68:18 is quoted in this passage.  Read other verses in Psalm 68 to get a better view of the quoted reference.

In today’s episode we talk about the importance of walking out our faith in a manner worthy of our calling as believers in Christ and how that directly affects unity in the Body of Christ.

    • Spend some time reflecting on God’s spiritual blessings to you as a believer, His immeasurable riches that He gave you in Christ, and the greatness of His power in you that is able to do far more abundantly than all you ask or think. How can this glorious, praise-worthy knowledge of God encourage you to walk worthy?
    • How are you eagerly maintaining unity with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Are there any areas that you need to repent, reconcile or forgive?
    • Pray for unity for our local church, the greater Engage Network, and believers around the world!

Read Ephesians 4:7-16 for next week! And tune in for our special guest!
