Hailed as the “Superman: Dawn of Justice” of its day, our film this week was the first to unite three separate cinematic universes in one story-telling masterpiece. Never before, and to the day of this being written never again since, has a film DARED to invite the “City of Angels” AND the “Little Nicky” narrative universes into its OWN overarching cinematic superuniverse. Really incredible stuff. The film, of course, is 1999’s “Notting Hill.” Part of our “Hugh Grant’s Vernal Dance” celebration.
