* Mark S. Kaplan is a professor of Social Welfare at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. His publications include, The social nature of male suicide: A new analytic model; Suicide among male veterans: a prospective population-based study; and Physical illness, functional limitations, and suicide risk: a population-based study.
