While you're looking for a job, spend two hours a day. Also, trying to build a business. There are lots of classes and courses that can help you find an idea and get started. So do that go ahead and build the business and put the two in competition. Let the business and the job to search. Go simultaneously and see, which one does better, and which one ends up supporting you. The last time I looked for a job was 1993, I started a business and I haven't had an employer since then.

I hear from interviewers all the time that people don't pay enough attention during the interview. That's right. They're distracted. They look at their phone. Their eyes are not directly into the camera or even better if it's an in-person interview is the person's eyes. You are going into an interview, be it virtual or live to make an impression and you're on your phone looking to see if you just got a message, absolute craziness. If it's virtual over Zoom, make sure the background is a plain white wall, not your bedroom.

We are giving you tips to help you. Not only get an interview but do better at the interviews. I'll share today's tip right after this.

When you have an interview you need to prepare for it in many different ways, you need to make sure you get dressed nicely and so you look really good and you need to make sure your resume is sharp and you need to study the company. You're going into the interview is not for the company to introduce themselves and tell you about the company. It's the time, you should demonstrate, you've already researched the company and the person interviewing you, you know what they do. And you're here to tell how you can contribute to that cause. 

I'm hearing from a lot of recruiters that they're seeing the same mistake again. And again, I'll share the mistake and how to solve it right after this.

The mistake that people are making is that they are over eager to get promoted and they're asking, not only what is the salary for this job, but what would my salary be for the next job? And how long until I can hope to get promoted. Oh boy, recruiters hate to hear this. I made the same mistake when I was young. I was interviewing at Coca-Cola and they asked what my goal was. I said I would like to be the CEO one day. No, of course I didn't get the job. 

I know some of you out there right now are looking for a job and I want you to know that you have my support and prayers this week is for you. And for everyone else. Remember you will be looking for a job again in the future. And so all of this advice is really important. I'll give you my first tip right after this. 

A great resume is critical. You all know that. But now the resume must match the keywords that the search engines are looking for thousands of applications come in and your resume needs to have the right matching keywords, the best way to solve that is to run it through chat GPT or a different AI first and have it maximize for the keywords that were in the job listing. Or the job posting, it will make a huge difference. The resume doesn't look as good, but it will search better.

Most of the advice I've given this week, has been defensive how to cut your expenses and things like that. Today's advice is aggressively offensive. Now is the time to start your dream business. Now is the time to start your gig side job. Rent, the pool Airbnb, Something, Now's the Time. 

Part of economic uncertainty is extra volatility. In the markets, they're like a roller coaster with huge crashes and then big rebounds. So this is an excellent time to pick a market. Study its patterns, learn when the dips are going to happen and buy 

To truly be prepared for economic uncertainty. You should have six months of months of saving in a readily available, cash account, money that you can get too quickly without selling something or converting something money. That's not in your 401k. If you have six months of your mortgage car, payments food, gas, all of those Basics saved, you can then feel good about spending money on a vacation.  

Yesterday, I suggested that now is a good time to cut. Some of the luxuries. Do you need all five streaming services? No, you can probably get by with three with the remaining services that you're still paying. For now is also an excellent time to see. If you're getting the best rates, for the things you still need. I was able to cut hundreds of dollars by changing my cell phone service to one of the 15 a month plans, it's just as good. I also changed my internet provider and saved, 120 bucks a month. 

It was a difficult one for the American economy. The stock market was up and down, thousands of points. There was a negative jobs report which sent everyone into a frenzy. So this week, I thought we would talk about some things that you should do before we have a recession if we do, I don't know that we're going to it's been predicted for a couple of years now and it still has not happened. We're all hoping for a soft Landing. This week, I'll give five tips on things to do before economic uncertainty did 

My first recommendation isn't obvious one, cut back a little now is the time to assess your expenditures and see if there's anything frivolous or anything that you can cut back. Do you need all five streaming service subscriptions, you're probably not using them all. Now's the Time to cancel them.
