There have been a Hill of a lot of adaptations of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. In this episode, Nathaniel boggles Max's mind by revealing how much Shirley Jackson trumps Stephen King's writing as well as by going over the actual plot of the book and two films versus the Netflix series, which is an adaptation in only the loosest sense but is awesome nonetheless. They also find a strangely specific repetitive formula in showrunner Mike Flanagan's body of work.

Nathaniel and Max finally get around to talking about one of the most influential horror movies/novels of all-time, The Exorcist, then dig into the less-good-but-still-decent sequel, Legion (filmed as The Exorcist 3). Then in a special Occult Corner, Max digs into Pazuzu and the origins of many demonic figures as ancient civilizations' gods and is punished for shining that light on Pazuzu's origins by having his internet eaten as a demonic late night snack.
