In honor of Halloween, we mix things up by exploring some of the original horror films that helped shape horror films for us today: Nosferatu, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man. We're joined by classic film buff Brett Odom who helps us properly explore and see the ways these films are still defining the genre today.

It's our 1-year podiversary, and in honor of that important date, we dig into one of our favorite horror movies of 2018, A Quiet Place, with special guest Taylor Haslem! Taylor brings her expertise as an ASL interpreter and helps Max and Nathaniel get further insight into the film, as well as shine light on a handful of other horror movies and TV shows featuring deaf characters.

Max and Nathaniel continue their coverage of their favorite horror movie of the year (so far) with another interview, this time with Marshall D. Moore of Utah Film Studios. In addition to shedding some excellent insight on the film, he also gives us a taste of what it was like to work on 2 Nightmare on Elm Street films. Max's Occult Corner continues the Hereditary scares by digging into the film's demon, Paimon, and in Studying the Strange, Nathaniel gives a brief history of Gothic literature.

Nathaniel and Max are in love with the new horror film Hereditary, and because it was filmed just a few cities away, they contacted the studio involved and were given the chance to interview some of the people involved! In the first of two episodes covering Hereditary they interview the film's line producer, Scott E. Chester, and give their impressions of the film.

In a very special episode, Nathaniel interviews one of his favorite horror (and sci-fi) authors, Dan Wells. They talk about his John Cleaver series, The Hollow City, mental health's portrayal in horror and in the media in general, and also discuss the film I Am Not A Serial Killer, which adapts Dan's first novel. Max joins in post-interview to talk more about the movie.
