Being a fan of "Scream," in most cases, means being a fan of Wes Craven. The master of horror, Craven became a household name when he created Freddy Kruger in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" in 1984. While Freddy Kruger may be one of the most iconic villains in horror film history, Craven's greatest work most probably occurred in his telling of Sidney Prescott's story in the four "Scream" films. In between Freddy and Kruger, Craven made many films. In this episode, Ryan and the first Patreon guest, Cory Wilson, discuss his legacy and briefly rate each of Craven's films.

Television veteran writer and showrunner, Jeff Astrof ("Friends," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Trial & Error") joins Ryan for a deep dive into "Shining Vale," working with the Scream Queen herself, Courteney Cox, and how the puzzling season finale sets up season two. In addition, they recount "Shining Vale" references to "The Shining," "Rosemary's Baby," "The Exorcist," and more. Also, Amar Karim joins Ryan for a preview of the discussion in the introduction, giving his two cents on season one of "Shining Vale" with some light comparisons between "Scream" and "Shining Vale." The episode will conclude with Ryan opening a package from Courteney Cox's HomeCourt, where he reviews each of the four lotion scents they sell.

"Scream" (2022) relaunched the beloved Ghostface series that has always remained above other slasher franchises. The new film revived the series, and Radio Silence proved there is enough blood in this franchise to continue the story in several different ways. A sixth "Scream" has been written and will be filmed this summer, scheduled for release in March 2023. In this episode, "Freaky" writer Michael Kennedy returns to the podcast to discuss the future of the "Scream" franchise. There may be a three-part arc in the current storyline, as there was in the original trilogy. The filmmakers have planted seeds as to which path this trilogy may undergo as well as in the distant future in another decade.
