In this episode of Tim Talks, Tin offers a Sneak Peak at upcoming episode 207 with well Renowned Public Speaker and Long Time Sports Broadcaster Joe Schmit where Jim speaks about people he's met in his life who make what he calls a "Silent Impact." In other words to do things not to impress, but because its the right thing to do.
To illustrate the point Jim refers to our guest on Screw the Naysayers Episode 186 Coach Jim Johnson. Jim (sportscaster Jim) observed that Coach Johnson's single mover created a massive long term impact on the lifes of so many others. Stories like the one that revoled around Coach Johnson's autistic manager turned "hot as a pistol 3 point shooter" are happening all over the country.
Jim Schmit sums it up this way. We make our biggest impact when we're not trying to impress.
In this mini episode Tim draws on lessons learned from Michael Hyatt (an upcoming guest on Screw the Naysayers) and past guests Marcus Aurelius Anderson and Marnie Grundman, to talk about two realities in business. To consistently make money you need to serve others consistently. Talking about it, which seems to be the fad these days with all the self proclaimed "influencers" will lead you to oblivion.

Anthony Trucks is a former NFL athlete for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also an American Ninja Warrior on NBC where he became the first NFL athlete to hit a buzzer. Anthony's been featured on 6 national TV brands, became a 7 Figure gym owner, and is now a 6 figure consultant, International keynote speaker, and a Best selling author.
Like many previous guests on this show, Anthony’s path to success has been anything but linear.
In this episode Anthony talked about growing up in foster care and hitting his absolute low in 2011. He had lost his career in the NFL, discovered that his wife was having an affair, and his business was failing. In his words “everything that made me me was stripped away.” He went out on a search for rat poison and sent a text to say goodbye. The Cops found him before he could act and brought him home. When Anthony arrived he found 40 people waiting for him. A friend told Anthony that he’d thrown up because he thought that he’d lost a hero. For Anthony that was a turning point. He went back to the gym and started sharing his feelings in gym classes.
Today Anthony uses his experiences to teach others about the importance of allowing their identity to be modified by life’s experiences, and shows them how to use it to springboard them to achieve bigger dreams and goals. He calls it the Identity Shift. Oh did I mention that Anthony’s High School Principal flat out told him that he would never make it. Proof positive that we should never let the opinions of others hold us back. And here’s a last fun fact. This episode was recorded before the SuperBowl. As a lifelong Chiefs fan I asked Anthony who he was picking. Let’s just say we should have made a wager on the game! Enjoy

In this mini episode Tim drops some wisdom from Seth Godin (guest on episode 100) and also shares some shocking numbers that shows us where the money is going. Hint. It's not coming back to small business owners.
Micheal Burt, better known as Coach is an entrepreneur, author, and a much in demand public speaker.
At the age of 18 Coach came across the teachings of Stephen Covey. He began with a deep study of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, but quickly gravitated toward Covey’s Whole Person Theory. At the age of 22 Coach was named the youngest head coach in the state of TN at the second largest high school. He would employ “The Whole Person Theory” to begin building a national power house with seven 25+ win seasons, four conference titles, and one state championship, the first in the school’s 30+ year history. He would go on to win over 74% of all of his games by using his strategies and deep motivational skills.
At 25 he would begin writing the first of 14 books on his methodology. Companies who wanted to grow started hiring Coach to speak, coach, and train their people to higher levels of performance. In this episode Coach:
Coach Burt is affectionately known as America’s Coach. It’s easy to see why. Enjoy

On this weeks Freestyle Friday Tim shares a background story about his interview with Bob Burg, Co-Author of the international best selling book "The Go Giver." It highlights the importance of doing the small stuff and reminds us to value those we can count on to help without expecting anything in return.
People often ask me how I found the courage to quit a six-figure job, move to a tiny fishing village in Nova Scotia Canada, and to start my own educational software business. Especially when I had two kids under the age of five and I was the sole wage earner in the family. Then there was the fact that I didn’t know how to code software.
Looking back it’s easy for me to see where I found the courage to quit that job, move back to Nova Scotia, and start a business most everyone predicted was certain to fail. It’s actually very simple. For the first time in my life my WHY was bigger than my fear of failure.
In this mini episode I explain how I found my why and how my why has evolved over the past 30 years.
Today's episode was inspired by my conversation with Corey Poirier, the Best Selling Author of The Book of Why (and How). I’ve read the book and I believe that it should be mandatory reading for anyone that is seeking to live a life filled with purpose and meaning. Corey has a launch on right now and you can learn all about that at www.thebookofwhy.com
I'm so pumped to have Corey back as a return guest on Screw the Naysayers. Corey’s personal story is one of overcoming obstacles. He was raised by a single mother, grew up in a small town, barely graduated high school (a teacher gave him a 49+1) and battled anxiety and hypochondria in his early 20’s. Since those days he has become a multiple-time TEDx speaker, the host of 3 top rated interview shows, founder of The Speaking Program, and he has been featured in multiple television specials. He’s a columnist with Entrepreneur and Forbes magazine, and has built a multiple-six figure business
He joined me today to talk about his new book titled The Book Of Why (And How). T Harv Eker, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind™ had this to say about The Book of Why. "Corey has interviewed over 5,000 of the world's top performers, and reveals the secrets of achieving true success. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to take their business, career or life to the next level."
John Lee Dumas, Entrepreneurs On Fire says that "You owe it to yourself to learn from the best, and Corey Poirier brings the HEAT!.”?
And John Gray author of Men are from Mars says "Success can be elusive, but it can be found, and it’s easier when you know the secrets. This book is a gateway to many of those secrets."
I’ve read the book and I believe that it should be mandatory reading for anyone that is seeking to live a life filled with purpose and meaning. Corey has a launch on right now and you can learn all about that at www.thebookofwhy.com
We had an awesome conversation. Corey:
Corey is a great interview and absolutely one of my favourite people. Enjoy…

“The salary is what they pay you to give up on your dreams”. Nathan Seaward, Ep. 190 Screw the Naysayers.
Anyone that has ever felt stuck in a job that no longer fulfilled them can probably relate to those words. Nathan has earned the right to make this statement. He walked away from a 15 year career as an commercial airline pilot with one of the largest airlines in Asia, to become a life coach. It was a huge gamble, but in his heart, Nathan knew that flying wasn’t his forever job.
The thing that makes Nathan’s story special is that he broke free from the “golden handcuffs”, which for an airline pilot are linked to a seniority system that assigns desirable routes based on years of service. If you leave and come back, you start all over again at the bottom. For me those golden handcuffs came in the form of a six figure income and stock options that would only vest if I stayed with the company. In both cases those “handcuffs” were designed to incent us to focus on the status quo, even if doing so meant giving up on our dreams.
In this mini-episode Tim shares seven tips for any of you that might be feeling trapped in a career that no longer fulfils you.
