Some people complain. Anthony Delgado gets on with solving problems.
He’s a serial entrepreneur whose latest venture has big goals. He wants Puerto Rico to become the Hong Kong of the Caribbean. His mission began in the aftermath of the hurricane damage in Puerto Rico. Anthony wanted to do something to help. His friends told him to send a donation or mail a letter to the Governor. Anthony bought a 1-way ticket to Peurto Rico and hopped on a plane.
The biggest problem was power. Being a tech guy Anthony looks at all the sunshine, and with the help of friends back home he gave away 300 solar panels with batteries. The next biggest problem was the damage to tourism, where a huge number of people had lost their jobs.
Anthony’s answer? Take advantage of the warm weather to host a major tech event. Then he decided to start a coding school in Peurto Rico that combines education with travel.
Anthony Delgado is the CEO and Co-Founder of Disrupt Digital, a full-service digital agency servicing SMB clients around the world. Disrupt is a technology innovation firm that specializes in using coding and technology to change the world.
He is also the Chairman of Disrupt University, an alternative education company that offers various coding bootcamps and online learning programs that educate underserved communities around the globe including Puerto Rico. He is also a member of the Forbes Technology Council and a writer for the online magazines technology topics.

In what universe can a person consistently miss deadlines without facing serious ramifications?
This was the first question that popped into my head when Jolene Stillinger opened up about the way kids are being educated today.
Could it really be true that 16 year old students are in a system where there is no expectation to meet deadlines? Students can wait until the very last day of class and hand in assignments and still get credit for them.
In moments like this I really start to question if our public education system can be saved. Flash forward ten years and 50% of those students will be working in the gig economy. That means getting out there, getting your own work, doing quality work, and meeting deadlines. This is not some kind of optional skill.
When are we going to realize that our children base most of their decisions on the things they see us doing? Not the words or information we try to stuff in their head at school.
Full credit to Jolene for going deep and openly sharing her experiences as a mother and as a successful entrepreneur. She has two kids, one in High School and a 3 year old.
In her words Jolene had build her own support system. Her mother, and even her best friend doubted her ability to take a non-traditional route and to start a business. Thankfully Jolene believed otherwise.
Today she is a successful entrepreneur who has built a 7 figure business. She owns and operates FEEDFOXX a full service digital marketing agency, and is also the founder, producer and host of WiseChaseTV, which is an entrepreneurial video magazine and podcast.
In this episode we go deep on the challenges of being a mother with a daughter in HS and the changes she’s seen in the school system. Things like no homework, no study skills, and no deadlines. And she’s honest is talking about the challenges she faces in balancing her business career with her role as a mother.

HEADLINE: GREAT JOB! YOU’RE FIRED!
I hear stories like this every day. People get up every day, go to work, do everything that is asked of them and more, and then they’re on the street looking for work.
Bobby Umar knows what that is like. It turns out working 80 hours a week combined with poor diet choices has consequences. In Bobby’s case, at age 36 his doctor told him he had diabetes. Bobby asked for 2 weeks off to get his blood sugar under control, and suggested he cut back to 50 hours a week. Three weeks later he was let go.
During my stint in the corporate world, I was part of a management transition team put in place after a merger between 2 companies. The big boss calls a meeting, walks to the whiteboard and writes “MM” in big letters. “Anybody know what that means,” he asks? Silence. He gets a big smile and says “Meat Market.” More silence. “That means we can lay anybody off and we don’t need cause”.
Are all bosses like that? Of course not. But it makes a person think.
I’m no economist, but I can almost hear the corporate axes being sharpened. Mothers, fathers, husbands, and wives are going to be facing involuntary transitions. Soon.
In this environment Bobby Umar advocates building your own dream. How about you? Whose dream are you following?

JT McCormick shouldn't have succeeded. He was born the mixed-race son of a drug-dealing pimp father and a orphaned, single mother on welfare. He was raised in the slums of Dayton, Ohio, suffered incredible abuse and racism, and had multiple stints in the juvenile justice system. He barely graduated high school and has no college degree.
And then the mortgage industry fell apart. He lost his job, and literally all of his money. In his words he was “negative broke.”
That setback sent JT on a journey of discovery that changed everything. He looked in the mirror and realized that the person he had become was in his words “a monster.” He was reminded of his father, the one person he never wanted to be like.
Flash forward 10+ years and JT is the CEO of Scribe Media, a company that in 2018 was acknowledged by Entrepreneur Magazine as having the best culture in America.
