During today's conversation on Scripture & Story, we are smack dab in the middle of the greatest chapter in all of the Bible! Romans 8 is filled with rich theological doctrines and stunning promises; it's brimming with beautiful truths about how you and I can live in the Spirit.
Today we focus on Romans 8:18-25. No doubt, if you've taken as many trips around the sun as I have (44 to be exact), you have encountered some difficult times along the way. We all face seasons of suffering. Unfortunately no one makes it through this life unscathed by the brokenness that has permeated our world. But Paul says something so audacious in our passage today: The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us.
Wow. Let that settle in for a moment. And then join me as we bask in this glorious truth during our conversation on Scripture & Story.

During today's conversation on Scripture & Story, we are going to continue our journey through the greatest chapter in all of the Bible! I'm probably not alone in saying that Romans 8 is my very favourite passage of scripture. It has such deep theological truths and stunning promises. If you and I were to really grab ahold of these truths, building our lives on them, and if we were to truly believe these promises are for us, I think our lives would dramatically change.
Today we focus on Romans 8:9-17. Have you ever felt obligated to do something? Paul makes it clear in these verses that we are not obligated to say yes to our flesh. Before we knew Jesus, we said yes to sin without even thinking about it. But now that we have the Holy Spirit living within us, we are not obligated to obey the demands of the flesh. That's good news for us!

During today's conversation on Scripture & Story, we are going to dive into the greatest chapter in all of the Bible! Romans 8 is filled with rich theological doctrines and stunning promises; it's brimming with beautiful truths about how you and I can live in the Spirit.
Let me tell you … a Christian who is not acknowledging or accessing the Spirit of Christ within her, listening for His voice, being guided by His counsel, and tapping into His resurrection power, is missing out on the abundant life Jesus came to give her.
But when you and I are led by the Spirit of God every day, we experience peace and fullness of life and I dare say, the grandest adventure.
Today we focus on Romans 8:1-8, and it begins with the most beautiful news: There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Now that's worth shouting an AMEN!

The greatest story ever told is the one found on the pages of Scripture.
God's story is one seamless grand narrative of redemption, full of mystery and adventure, passion and heartache, unlikely people with impossible callings, and unimaginable plot twists. Every page points to Jesus Christ. And quite remarkably, we find our stories on the pages of His story.
Scripture & Story is a space where together we we will immerse ourselves in God's Story, not to accumulate fun facts we can share over charcuterie boards, but so we can encounter the living God.
In a thousand ways, God is writing a story of redemption with our lives. He is turning our grief into joy, our disappointment into fulfillment, and our fear into faith. As you listen, you will gain clarity and confidence in your understanding of Scripture and discover how God's story transforms yours.
