During today's conversation on Scripture & Story, we are continuing in our Story of Redemption Series.
We are in a section of the story that often proves difficult for us to navigate, and I don't know about you, but sometimes I tend to avoid these parts of my Bible.
But we know that all of God's Word is profitable for us, so we are diving into the prophets with faith believing God will speak to us.
Elijah, Habakkuk, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos and others … these are all men God used to speak His message to His people. These messages were mostly ones of warning: If they persisted in their sin and idolatry, there would be grave consequences.
Despite these repeated warnings, God's people refused to repent. So God allowed them to be taken into exile. They had chosen the bondage that comes with rebellion over the freedom that comes with obedience. But this is not the end of the story.
