Answer some kid questions with, “I need to study that”; comment on cross references, translations, content, harmony, and figures.
Quicker and easier to read commentary. Are useful, but should never replace Bible study.
Don’t want to do class lessons with any depth. Attitude: “study is for adults”
Use the Bible as a guide through life
Psalm 119:9-11; James 1:21-25
Exemplify change based on Bible; guide kids’ application of Word by making plans, motivating, accountability.
Change is hard! Easier to go with flow. Takes mature faith to trust text over friends/society.
Hypocrisy: sermon on speech … continue bad words.
Defend the Bible

Be open and honest about science, creation, Bible, evidence, etc.; http://ApologeticsPress.org
We’re not historians / scientists / archaeologists … “Just believe it!”; Afraid to investigate.

Several baptisms are mentioned in the New Testament:
I Corinthians 10:1-3 – baptism of Moses and Israelites in the sea
Matthew 3:11 – baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire
Matthew 3:6 – baptism of John the Baptist
Ephesians 4:4-6 – baptism of the New Covenant. This is a command and not a promise
Luke 12:50; Mark 10:38-40 – baptism of suffering
Water baptism is not in this context. Suffering is.
“for the dead” – “for” here could be used in the sense of “to fill the ranks.”
I Corinthians 15:33-34 – This seems to be specifically directed to those who believed in the resurrection as a warning against close companionship with those who did not believe in the resurrection. Those who did not believe in the resurrection were living sinful lives as it says in I Corinthians 15:32: “Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die.”
I Corinthians 15:35-44 – The resurrected body is an immortal body. We do not yet know what it will be like.

I Corinthians 15:12-29
I Corinthians 15:12-19 – Apparently, some among the Corinthians were claiming there was no resurrection. Paul was pointing out the fallacy of this belief. It makes no sense to be a Christian if there is no resurrection.
I Corinthians 15:21-22 – Adam brought sin into the world. This is not saying we are guilty of Adam’s sin – just that Adam’s sin introduced physical death into the world.
I Corinthians 15:23 – Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection. All the others that have been saved by Him will follow at the bodily resurrection.
John 5:28-29
I Corinthians 15:24-28 – When the resurrection is complete, Jesus will hand over His authority back to the Father and God will go back to the state He was in before Creation.
