Eiheiji chanting: the simplest possible form of musical expression.

A monotone chanting, like the sound of the wind or the ocean, that is not really heard unless seen with the ears and heard with the whole body.

“It is said that monks who wished to learn to chant properly used to stand in front of a waterfall and try to make their voices heard above the sound of the water. If the voice came from the throat or chest, exhaustion was the almost immediate result. However, if mind and body were composed, the sound could flow forth freely and even after long periods of vocal exercise no fatigue would he felt.”

The Turkish invasion of Rojava, the autonomous region in northeastern Syria, has started in October 2019. F16s are leaving to strike Rojava from the same airbase they left to strike ISIS. An attack on Rojava is an attack on the people’s right to live, their democracy, solidarity, and women’s liberation.

In March 2016, female:pressure launched the Rojava campaign aimed at raising awareness of the #Rojava resistance movement in northern Syria.

There, women partner at all levels of decision-making and were building a new society with social justice, religious freedom, ecological principles and gender equality.

This program contains a mix from the compilation prepared by female:pressure, broadcasted first on Women’s day 2016.

female pressure is an international network of female, transgender and non-binary artists in the fields of electronic music and digital arts, with more than 2.500 members from 79 countries.

All the proceeds from the Rojava campaign were/are dedicated to Rojava’s women for the construction of a women's village, called Jinwar - village of free women.

The compilation is available at Bandcamp under the name Music, Awareness & Solidarity w/ Rojava Revolution.

"Il problema più grande della comunicazione oggigiorno è che non ascoltiamo per capire, ma per rispondere".

"Per me l'ascolto può essere considerato come una vera e propria virtù, un'arte (..) ci consente di metterci in relazione con il mondo esterno (..) l'ascolto è un'azione che diventa relazione, tra noi e le altre persone (..). Concepisco quindi l'ascolto come una forma di amore; un significato di amare infatti è quello di esprimere se stessi, donare parte di sé, delle nostre energie. (..) Attraverso l'ascolto noi prestiamo attenzione e dedichiamo parte delle nostre energie agli stimoli esterni, amando attraverso l'ascolto ciò che ci sta davanti. L'ascolto quindi può essere inteso come un gesto molto altruistico." L'ascolto ha proprietà benefiche non solo per gli altri, nel momento in cui ci mettiamo in relazione con loro e siamo disponibili, ma anche per se stessi, portando ad una più profonda conoscenza di sé. In particolare, riguardo ai benefici dell'ascolto, l'ascolto della musica è estremamente terapeutico secondo il mio punto di vista. Credo che la musica sia in grado sia di stimolare che rilassare le nostre menti, colorare la nostra vita e renderla magica, addirittura modificare i pattern di connessioni neurali all'interno del nostro cervello, grazie alla proprietà cerebrale di neuro-plasticità.
