The music industry executive has faced increasing criticism following a lawsuit filed in 2023 by his former partner, Cassie, who accused him of sex trafficking and prolonged abuse. Representatives for Mr. Combs have asserted that he is an innocent man.

Sean Combs, the prominent music figure whose career has been significantly impacted by allegations of sexual assault and a federal inquiry, was taken into custody at a hotel in Manhattan on Monday evening after a grand jury issued an indictment against him.

The details of the indictment remain sealed, and the specific charges have not been disclosed; however, Marc Agnifilo, Mr. Combs’s attorney, indicated that he believes the charges pertain to racketeering and sex trafficking.

In a statement from Mr. Combs’s legal team, they expressed disappointment regarding the decision to pursue prosecution, emphasizing that he had been cooperative throughout the investigation and had voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.
