Thank you to everyone worried about our family and the fires in Alberta.  Our family is very safe, but many families northwest of us had to evacuate.  Luckily there hasn't been loss of life or tons of loss of property, so we will keep our our fingers crossed for our fellow Albertans.

In Science News on the Science Pawdcast we look at a study that found a method for how enough nitrates formed to give early life a chance on hellish Earth.  In Pet Science we check out a study that found some interesting conclusions about the cat nervous system and how that could help humans.

Our guest in Ask an Expert is pHD student Jackie Billotte, a biologist but also spider expert.  We get int a great discussion all about our eight legged friends!
