Gary Walsh makes a triumphant return to the podcast! Being a second-timer, Tony Hale gets into the thick of it with Matt and Tim and admits he wasn’t always aware what was going on in the show. He also reveals how the script sometimes made him feel uncomfortable and had to trust that it would turn out well…and it did. The gents had so much fun recapping we had to make it into two parts! The second part will drop next Tuesday.

Today, we’re visited by Diedrich Bader, who played campaign manager turned scapegoat Bill Ericsson! Diedrich recalls his time on ‘Veep’ and how he got to wear the “fame hat” because of the show; he talks about how taking his kids to the beach made him bomb his audition in front of Julia Louis-Dreyfus; how he never could memorize his lines and therefore was constantly nervous on set.

SYNOPSIS: Amy and Dan compete for the role of campaign manager, while Selina meets with a third candidate, Bill Ericsson. Mike causes a stir collecting his semen while at work for IVF purposes and Gary worries that his shoulder pain may prevent him from keeping his job. Meanwhile, Selina, Dan and Gary travel to Virginia to persuade George Maddox not to run for president.

We’re kicking off Season 3 with a very special treat. We’re getting an exclusive under the hood look from the captain himself: Armando Iannucci! Armando talks about the genesis of Veep and how some of the ludicrous things on the show were inspired by some very real head-scratching American politics.

If you thought you were a Veep fan you just might question that after meeting this super fan: Stephen Colbert! To say Stephen is obsessed with VEEP is an understatement. He references and quotes the show better than the two guys that were on the show! Life imitates art as Stephen reflects on his time as a political commentator while comparing the “larger than life” characters on the show to real-life politicians. It’s a complete geek-fest as Matt and Tim test Stephen on his Veep trivia and finally, Stephen weighs in on the age old debate: Is Mike McLintock or Amy Brookheimer worse at their job?

We’re reminiscing the finale of Season 2 today with British comedian, writer, actor, and director Chris Addison! Having been one of the integral top minds and directors throughout the series, Chris offers a fresh, tasty look at how the Veep sausage was made.

SYNOPSIS: With the administration in full crisis mode over the spy scandal and Selina's future in doubt, the entire staff goes on a frenzied job hunt. With news that President Hughes isn’t going to run in two years, Selina tells her staff that she’ll be running in the next election. However, Furlong catches wind and causes a stir by spreading the news of Hughes’ departure all over town.
