House Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned up Saturday in the capital of Ukraine effusively declaring, “Our commitment is to be there for you until the fight is done.” 

Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi has been far less forthcoming with respect to a matter closer to home. As Mark Levin pointed out during his Fox News program last night, she has not shared her insights into what actually happened on January 6, 2021.

The select committee Ms. Pelosi created – ostensibly to establish what occurred – cannot possibly accurately do that unless it hears from the Speaker, under oath, about what she knew that day regarding the threat to the Capitol and when, and why she lowered, rather than heightened security for the congressional complex.

Nancy Pelosi’s opposition to Vladimir Putin channeling Joseph Stalin would be more convincing if she’d ensure her inquiry is not just a show-trial.

The man enabling millions to immigrate here illegally just unveiled another, mortal threat to our country. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that his department is establishing an Orwellian Ministry of Truth called the Disinformation Governance Board.

It’s not hard to connect the dots on how such an effort to restrict speech will tie into the rest of the Marxist revolutionary wrecking operation the Biden administration is mounting. A new “Digital Gulag” is being constructed in which vaccine passports repackaged as SMART health cards will provide infrastructure for the surveillance, data weaponization and control mechanisms the Chinese Communists call the “Social Credit System.” It will be used to track and punish those deemed guilty of thought crimes called “disinformation.”

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will resume today on Capitol Hill the role he played yesterday as a human piñata pummeled by critics on both sides of the aisle frantic about the wrecking operation that passes for the Biden administration’s immigration policy.

Its dismantling of so-called “Title 42” will soon see 18,000 aliens illegally entering our country every day. In response to that prospect, Secretary Mayorkas blithely claimed, “We are preparing. We are implementing our plans. We are intensifying our efforts.” Actually, the plan is nothing more than to ensconce those invaders across our country as quickly as possible.

If congressional Republicans gain a majority in November, it will be substantially due to the immense harm being done to public health, public safety and the national security by the Biden-Mayorkas team. They deserve to be impeached for it – and surely will be.

In October 2019, a group of globalists and U.S. and Chinese officials conducted an ominous tabletop exercise called “Event 201.” Among other things, it modeled how a coronavirus pandemic could be used to strengthen world government.

Within weeks, the CCP unleashed such a pandemic. As predicted by the Event 201 team, the World Health Organization assumed a prominent role in the response. We soon learned, however, that it was basically a shill for Communist China and its “model” of totalitarian mask mandates, lockdowns and inadequately tested vaccines.

The Biden administration nonetheless seems intent on greatly increasing the power of the World Health Organization to dictate responses to future pandemics. On May 22nd, votes are expected that would subordinate our national sovereignty and decision-making to the dictates of the WHO without the approval of the U.S. Senate.

Will we let that happen?

Last week, former President Barack Obama declared that government needs to start regulating free speech on social media platforms because their “content management” efforts are failing to keep rhetorical “raw sewage out of the public square.”

This week, billionaire Elon Musk bought one of the most influential of such platforms, Twitter, with the pledge to restore free speech – an apparent repudiation of what is not so much about managing content as it is the suppression of information and opinion politically intolerable to radical leftists like Obama.

Time will tell whether these were coincidental developments or, for that matter, whether Mr. Musk will really enable freedom of expression on Twitter. What is clear already is that the fight for that fundamental liberty has never been more necessary – and the emergence of a formidable man professing to be its champion more welcome.

The man who promised to “fundamentally transform the United States of America” is back at it. In an address at Stanford University last week, former President Barack Obama called for the government to regulate free speech.

Despite describing himself as “pretty close to a First Amendment absolutist,” Mr. Obama outlined an approach whereby private sector social media’s own efforts at what he euphemistically called “content management” would be regulated by governmental authorities so as to control the dissemination of “disinformation.”

It’s hard to overstate the menacing implications of such an arrangement for our constitutional republic. Obama characterized the exercise of free expression by a domestic political opponent as “flood[ing] the public square with…raw sewage.” Such an impetus for censorship is not a characteristic of a First Amendment absolutist, but someone absolutely determined to silence speech of which he does not approve.

“Have you eaten lately?” is a Chinese greeting rooted in centuries of famine, particularly under the Communist Party’s misrule. It may soon become something Americans ask one another, too.

After all, world food shortages are on the rise, aggravated by serious disruptions of both Russian and Ukrainian wheat exports induced by Putin’s invasion.

Shortfalls in imports of the ingredients needed to fertilize America’s farmland are examples of the folly of relying on foreign supply chains.

China has been hoarding, accumulating huge wheat and corn stockpiles. It has also been buying up large quantities of U.S. farmland and food processing plants here.

Ominously, there have lately been a spate of as-yet-unexplained fires and other “accidents” reported at 12 of such plants.

One thing seems certain already: All these problems can add up to acute food insecurity for millions of us.

An online dictionary defines the term “grooming” as “when a sexual or other kind of predator sets the stage for abusing another.”

Such a definition certainly applies to the gangs of Pakistani immigrants in the United Kingdom and Jeffrey Epstein who “groomed” and sexually abused underage girls.

Notwithstanding a ludicrous claim by a Republican political operative named Matthew Dowd that, “If Jesus Christ was alive today, he would be called a groomer,” such a charge is not only deeply offensive to the world’s Christians, it is utterly unwarranted.

Retired Navy Captain James Fanell, however, has coined a new and very apt application of the term when he described as “CCP groomers” prominent Americans who are setting the stage for the Chinese Communist Party to abuse all of us by obscuring –  and enabling – its true, predatory and genocidal designs against our country.

Kamala Harris yesterday added outer space to the portfolios in which she has demonstrated appallingly poor judgment and undermined America’s national security. She effectively declared the Biden administration would unilaterally disarm in the face of demonstrated – and very dangerous – Chinese and Russian anti-satellite capabilities.

This initiative exemplifies the sort of naivete – if not actual subversiveness – of leftists like Biden and Harris and their radical arms controller allies. The Veep asserted that our refusal to test missiles from the earth to attack objects in space would foster new norms for responsible behavior in space.

Actually, such unilateral restraint will not prevent debris fields in space or make it safe for civilian exploration and other uses. Instead, it will embolden our enemies by locking in their advantages aimed at militarily controlling the High Frontier, in furtherance of their ambitions to dominate our planet below.

Yesterday marked the start of Holy Week in Ukraine. It may be the last on earth for large numbers of Ukrainian civilians Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will try to murder in the days ahead.

Whether that happens could depend in part on us. Putin clearly believes he can use with impunity missiles, aircraft, a new armored offensive and perhaps chemical or even tactical nuclear weapons to reduce virtually every Ukrainian city to the uninhabitable rubble that is what’s left of the southern port of Mariupol.

In addition to robust sanctions, expedited transfers of urgently needed weapons, expressions of solidarity and, of course, prayers in support of Ukraine, American leadership is urgently required to change Putin’s calculation. Start by establishing that nations still doing business with him will be regarded as not just tolerant of his genocide there, but as accomplices to it.
