Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley has informed Congress that it’s “too early to tell” whether the American people are safer as a result of the humiliating strategic defeat in Afghanistan that Joe Biden engineered with his help. He says we’ll know in six months.

Those statements aren’t simply wrong. They’re delusional.

The Biden bug-out of Afghanistan has created a terrorist super- state in which domestic and foreign Sharia-supremacists enjoy a sanctuary to engage in jihad worldwide. They obtained an immense arsenal, are murdering their opponents with impunity and are emboldened to do the same to the rest of us.

In short, we’re in far greater danger than we were prior to Biden’s presidency, let alone his Afghan surrender. And the only thing that will be even more clear in six months is that Gen. Milley cannot safely be in charge of anything.

Biden lied and people died. And more are dying by the day in Afghanistan as a result of the President ignoring the recommendations of his senior military leaders to leave a small American force in that country and then telling the American people he had not done so. And many more will likely die – there and elsewhere – as a result of the humiliating strategic defeat that predictably flowed from his decision.

Unfortunately, those officers’ failure to resign, rather than execute orders they knew would lead to disaster, assured that outcome. It has had other, probably enduring, costs, as well.

These include the alienation and demoralization of today’s servicemen and women, a diminished appeal to new recruits, a degraded appreciation for our military on the part of the public, emboldened adversaries and allies lacking confidence in our strength, judgment and reliability.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley will likely excuse his contribution to Joe Biden’s humiliating defeat in Afghanistan today by falsely asserting the Taliban’s swift victory was unexpected.

Even more untenable is our unpreparedness for the coming, conflict with China. Its leadership and propaganda outlets have been telling the Chinese since 2019 that their country is engaged in a “People’s War” with the United States and to prepare for hostilities.

Former Air Force commander Matthew Lohmeier urges Milley’s Senate interlocutors to ask: “Did [he] tell his counterpart in the People’s Liberation Army…that, in the event the United States government decided to engage in military related actions against China, he would provide advance warning…?”

If so, the general’s conduct would not be – as with the Afghan defeat – merely a gross dereliction of duty. It could prove to be a devastating betrayal of our country.

Joe Biden’s done it again. He has engineered another strategic defeat for the United States to the resounding benefit of the Chinese Communist Party.

Coming on the heels of his disastrous and humiliating surrender of Afghanistan, of which Communist China was the most important beneficiary, the Biden Justice Department’s collapse on the extradition of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou from Canada will further embolden our enemies and endanger our people.

For starters, Team Biden threw away an unprecedented opportunity to expose the threat posed to our country and the world by the CCP’s giant telecommunications Trojan Horse. It has also confirmed that hostage-taking by Beijing – in the Meng case, two Canadian citizens – will be rewarded, putting every American in China at risk.

Presumably, Xi Jinping demanded this capitulation on his recent 90-minute call with Mr. Biden. The question occurs: What’s next?

As the leaders of the United States, Japan, India and Australia confer today as members of “the Quad,” they will presumably be preoccupied with the principal threat all four countries face. That would be the Chinese Communist Party’s increasingly operationalized aspiration for world domination.

The Quad’s meeting will be taking place, however, under the oppressive shadow of Joe Biden’s humiliating strategic defeat in Afghanistan. After all, their common enemy is not only the principal beneficiary of that debacle. Communist China has clearly been further emboldened by it.

Unfortunately, so have the victorious Taliban and other jihadists worldwide. Since they continue – pursuant to Islam’s Sharia doctrine – to wage “endless war” against us “infidels,” the Quad must reject Team Biden’s dangerous delusion that what is left of the Free World can safely do business with either so-called “moderate jihadists” or their Chinese Communist friends.

Amidst the ongoing devastation caused by Joe Biden’s abandoning of our supporters in Afghanistan, opportunities should be seized to demonstrate America’s reliability in supporting its friends, not just pay lip-service to that proposition.

Unfortunately, Team Biden has just done the opposite, this time alienating, undermining and endangering our most important partner in the Middle East. Led by Islamist Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ihan Omar, every House Democrat voted this week to defund Israel’s Iron Dome anti-rocket system that keeps Hamas jihadists from murdering large numbers of her civilians.

As with the rest of Biden’s ruinously “transformative” agenda, the American people do not favor imperiling the Jewish State and its citizens. If this proposed betrayal is allowed to stand, our alliance relationships worldwide will surely suffer further – and our enemies will become ever more emboldened and aggressive.

The governor of Texas visited the Del Rio sector of his state’s border with Mexico yesterday to plead with President Biden to provide the resources needed to stem what amounts to a debilitating invasion of our country.

Unfortunately, Mr. Biden had something else on his mind then, as usual. He was at the United Nations warning about crises facing the planet that require the so-called “world community” to come together – like “climate change” and the present and future pandemics.

The trouble is that Biden’s globalism is not only contributing to the wrecking of our country, including by inviting untold millions of mostly unidentified and unvetted aliens to come here illegally. It fails to appreciate that the only hope for constructive action on virtually any other real problems lies in an America that’s economically and militarily secure – a status he’s determined to preclude.

Tucker Carlson reported last night that a growing number of U.S. military personnel are joining others across the country in refusing to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Such objections may be the beginning in earnest of not only opposition to Joe Biden’s increasingly totalitarian vax mandates and the identity papers – or “passports” – they inevitably necessitate. Those willing to lose their commissions or jobs rather than “take the jab” may just be the leading edge of resistance, at last, to the larger Biden-Harris agenda of “fundamentally transforming” America.

Thus far, the resistance is, and must remain, peaceful. And, if we are lucky, the Navy SEALs, health care workers, and other employees and businesses around the country just saying “No” to Biden’s mandates may help spare the rest of us, and America, 

the terrifying consequences of the Marxist revolution his team now has well underway.

Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked, partisan investigators are reconvening this week to promote her party line about an “insurrection” in Washington on January 6th, spawned by President Donald Trump and aimed at overthrowing our government.

To his credit, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has challenged that narrative, drawing on first-hand observations and analysis by my Center for Security Policy colleague, Mike Waller. On Saturday, at an event I attended in Dallas, former New Mexico prosecutor David Clements flatly characterized the event as a “false flag” operation.

Great reporting by Darren Beattie’s Revolver.net suggests FBI agents and informants may have been among a small cohort of provocateurs determined to disrupt that day’s certification of the 2020 presidential vote and vilify Trump supporters as terrorists, possibly with inside help.

There’s plenty to investigate about January 6th. Unfortunately, Team Pelosi seems unlikely to do it honestly.

If the Biden-Harris administration is intent on radically and “fundamentally transforming” America, the U.S. military would be a priority target. After all, our armed forces are not only essential to securing the American people. Theirs has long been the nation’s most admired institution, exemplifying as well as defending its Constitution and values.

This agenda best explains the Biden team’s behavior to date, including: insisting that “white supremacists” permeate the ranks; purging warriors for favoring President Trump and/or opposing mandatory Covid vaccinations; cutting defense spending; humiliatingly losing Afghanistan; and expressing “great confidence” in a politicized and discredited top general.

The cumulative effect of such assaults on good order and discipline is absolutely predictable: It undermines the only military we have at a time when public confidence in our national leadership is in free-fall and our enemies are emboldened.  That’s a formula for disaster.
