Lieutenant

General William “Jerry” Boykin is among our country’s most skilled,

accomplished and decorated warriors.  As

a long-time member and leader of America’s elite special forces and intelligence

community, he has fought our enemies and understands them better than just

about anybody. 

On

Glenn Beck’s radio show this week, Gen. Boykin warned about Grover Norquist, a

man he confirms has been enabling some of our most dangerous enemies – Islamic

supremacists, including terrorists, here inside the United States. 

His

confirmation that a subversive Islamist Fifth Column has been helped in its

influence operations against our government and civil society institutions

could not be more timely, or important.  Members of the National Rifle Association are voting

on whether Norquist should continue to serve on that organization’s board of

directors.

Last

Friday, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe unilaterally made 200,000 paroled

felons eligible to vote in this Fall’s election.  They’re expected overwhelmingly to vote

Democratic. As a result, he could well skew the outcome in his state.

Republicans

are screaming foul. Yet, a number of them are pushing for federal legislation

that would result in the early release of tens of thousands more felons. One is House Speaker Paul

Ryan.  And he reportedly will push to

have this bill considered soon.

Unfortunately,

problematic as these felons’ future votes may be for the GOP and the country,

of immediate concern is the impact of their release on public safety. That is especially so since a significant proportion

of those getting out early will be prison converts to Islamic supremacism and

its jihad.   

This

may be a bipartisan mistake, but it’s still a mistake.

Over

the weekend, President Obama implicitly declared himself the arbiter of the arc

of history.  He asserted that his host,

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is on the right side of it.  That only shows how much on the wrong side he is. 

In

just the past week, Mr. Obama declared himself in favor of Eurostatism and

Britain’s continued submission to it. 

His administration signed a climate change accord that will wreck the

U.S. energy industry, without appreciable impact on whatever warming is

happening. 

He

is sending more forces to Syria without a coherent strategy and even as he

hollows out the U.S. military. And he supports open borders for Islamic

supremacist migration.    

Ronald

Reagan’s view of history was one that he would shape with a basic goal: “We

win. They lose.”  Barack Obama seems to

prefer, “They win. We lose.”

Fresh

from a two-day diplomatic rout in Saudi Arabia, President Obama has injected

himself unhelpfully into the question of whether Britain should withdraw from

the European Union, which is the subject of a hotly contested referendum in

June.  

Not

surprisingly, the President is on the wrong side, supporting the imperious transnational

EU and the continued subordination of Britain’s sovereignty to its unaccountable,

socialist anti-U.S. bureaucracy and diktats. 

This

is a mistake on two grounds.  First, both

the United States and Britain will be better off if the UK is free to pursue its own economic, social, immigration

and foreign policies, rather than those handed down from Brussels.  

And

second, the unraveling of one lousy supranational arrangement can help stave

off the similar subordination of American sovereignty that Team Obama has in

mind for us, pursuant to the so-called “TransPacific Partnership.”

The

discovery of yet-another covert tunnel linking Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, California

calls to mind the plot of a forthcoming novel by Dan Gordon.  In Day

of the Dead, Book Two: America, he warns that something worse than drugs

might be smuggled into this country via such underground arteries. 

Gordon

chillingly describes what could happen if the narco-traffickers known to be

collaborating with jihadist operatives south of our border were to permit heavily

armed terrorists to use one or more of their tunnels to attack the

concentration of U.S. naval assets in San Diego. 

Dan

Gordon’s is less a fictitious warning than an ominous prediction. The newest,

half-mile-long tunnel demands a redoubled effort by both Mexican and U.S.

authorities to detect and destroy such threats – before the narcos and the jihadists use them against us, with

potentially devastating effect.

The strong silent type is a well known American

character.  Unfortunately, when it comes

to Vladimir Putin’s serial and escalating provocations, President Obama appears

to be the silent weak sort. 

In a recent phone call with Putin, Mr.

Obama didn’t mention  increasingly

aggressive behavior by Russian warplanes. His press spokesman justified the

President’s failure to do so, saying “These

kinds of incidents, while provocative and concerning, are not particularly

unusual.” 

Failing to object to dress rehearsals for

aerial bombing runs on our ships and maneuvers that endanger our aircraft is a

formula for such incidents – and worse

– becoming more “usual.”   

The best way to preserve peace is through

strength, not weakness, and by saying – and convincingly demonstrating – that we will exact a heavy price for any future

repetition of such threatening behavior by Russia, China or other potential, or

actual, adversaries.

It’s

become a blood sport in Washington lately to deride as “conspiracy theorists”

those who have documented the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood, in its words,

to “destroy Western civilization from within.” 

I am among those who have refused to be silenced by the conspiracy-

deniers. 

In

fact, the U.S. government has established in federal court that the

Brotherhood’s front groups have long pursued a stealthy campaign to penetrate

and undermine our constitutional republic.   

Not

surprisingly, Islamists and allied Leftists are particularly aggressive in

denying this conspiracy.  Some on the

Right, however, would have us believe that – despite ample evidence to the

contrary – the Muslim Brothers have not been able to infiltrate the

conservative movement and the GOP.  

Regrettably,

that’s not true.  Pretending otherwise

simply enables that Islamist assault on the Right – and our country – to

continue.

With

“friends” like the Saudis, does America need enemies?

Sure,

they’ve helped us consumers of gasoline of late by lowering oil prices. But the

Saudis’ stated reason for doing so should give us all pause: They want to

destroy the U.S. fracking industry.

Now,

Saudi Arabia is threatening to engage in another act of economic warfare.  They say they’ll dump hundreds of billions of

dollars in our Treasury notes if Congress lets victims of 9/ll sue the Kingdom over

its alleged role in that murderous act of jihad. 

Even

though Republican and Democratic administrations have concealed information

about the Saudis’ involvement in the September 11th attacks, a federal court

has established evidence of both its complicity and that of Iran.  

When

President Obama visits Saudi Arabia this week, will he call out these so-called

“friends” for their double-game – or continue our dangerous submission to it?

Barack

Obama has reduced the U.S. Navy to its smallest size since before World War I.  He has also allowed our sailors to be

subjected to serial, provocative humiliations by adversaries around the world. Taken

together, you have a formula for disaster. 

For

example, the Iranians have fired missiles in close proximity to Navy warships. They

then actually seized two of them. 

Chinese

threats to attack American naval forces operating in international airspace and

waters have gone unanswered, thanks to Team Obama spurning our top Pacific commander’s

warnings that we must resist, before it’s too late. 

This

week, Russian jets simulated twenty attacks on a U.S. destroyer in the Baltic

Sea.  The Pentagon simply complained

about the perpetrators’ “lack of professionalism.” 

Unless

deterred, such provocations will eventually precipitate conflicts. If that’s to

be avoided, we must impose real costs now.

President

Obama used CIA headquarters yesterday as a prop for his latest misleading

assertions about the Islamic State. He no longer minimizes them as the “JV team.”

He nonetheless boasts we “have the momentum” in a campaign to degrade and

ultimately destroy ISIS. 

While

some of its leaders have been killed or captured, the virulently jihadist group

is widely seen as still being both willing and able to carry out “spectacular”

terrorist attacks in the West.  

Worse

yet, the Islamic State is but one manifestation of what is now truly a global jihad movement.  It is that larger movement – which is on the

march – and its animating, totalitarian ideology, shariah, that mortally

threaten us. 

Barack

Obama’s persistent effort to obscure the reality of a metastasizing Islamic

supremacist cancer by claiming tactical gains against one of its symptoms

amounts to national security fraud.
